Disagree strongly with the complaints about the major characters, both the PCs and the major NPCs are well written and engaging, and often funny. Basically the humour that involves the PCs directly interracting with somebody or something usually works (Trevor's more hit and miss than the others though) but the stuff on the radio, on ads, on the internet outside of Lifeinvader or Bleeter (which are usually pretty funny) or just randomly yelled by pedestrians is usually kinda tacky. Disagree entirely with the PCs being unempathisable, even Trevor is kinda fascinating in a macabre way (though I can understand him at least alienating people, the complaint doesn't hold much water with Franklin or Michael though). Also the complaints about the switch mechanic leading to railroading and a lack of sandbox play are kinda mindbogglingly stupid. Basically whoever wrote the review was pretty seriously thin skinned and didn't even really hit the real complaints (juvenile sense of humour they got but no mention of the outdated vehicular combat and the real noticeable focus on male players which is a little bewildering cause sandbox crime games are in my experience one of the more equal genres as far as player ratio goes). Edit: I feel I should also bring up it's just generally archaic in vehicular stuff in general, the garage system is bogus and it lack a lot of the fun stuff Saints Row and Sleeping Dogs pioneered. It's still good enough though, just kind of a pain. I brought up vehicular combat particularly cause it's a total mess and basically worse than Saints Row 1's. That's 1.
