Before any of the conflicts had begun on either side, Yuurei had been observing the city from the rooftops, contemplating the life around it. The philosophical and curious part of the spirit had never left it despite its current objective, and being weaker than before to ensure communication remained between its comrades was still of utmost importance. The most it could do was watch, listen, and wait.

And wait it did, right through the explosions, lightning blasts, gunshots, and general chaos that had begun erupting across town. Each of the other members of the party had engaged in some sort of fight, and being weaker meant it was hard to judge which direction to go or who to aid at all. Zelehna had said to follow Kagi before they departed, and he had just run into Kurama of all things, but Shizuka seemed to be in trouble as well. Those two were the highest priority, but it really came down to

The target, or keeping one of their members alive...

Yuurei erupted from its position in the center of town toward the tower of the air kami, a blur of mist rushing across the rooftops. It had decided that keeping Shizuka alive was more important at the moment, and that Kagi would be fine on his own. There would be more chances at Kurama in the future, so losing a team member now would hurt the cause more than anything, especially if she could help convince the Air Kami to give them easy transportation.

Upon arriving at the tower, getting to Shizuka was a simple matter of passing through any walls and floors in the way, and any that could see Yuurei screamed in terror at the glowing mist writhing its way through the floors and walls of the building. With guns being used, there was no time for a convenient form, only what worked best.

KA-CHINK! BOOM! A shot that was closer now due to Yuurei actually being there instead of just hearing through the wisp, and it saw through the wisp the Shizuka had been hit in the right shoulder. It was so close...

KA-CHINK! BOOM! The second shot roared out looking for Shizuka's other shoulder, but was stopped dead by a cloud materializing through the floor and, somehow, seeming to grab the bullet out of the air.

A few moments later, after the bullet had dropped to the ground, the mist began to condense into a more humanoid form, the glow inside it intensifying. Yuurei had reclaimed the wisps from Masumi and Shizuka in order to gain some more power, but it was enough to stop a bullet it seemed. Yuurei then gave a glare to Shizuka's aggressor, glowing lights peering out through where the figure's head would be.

"Leave, cat." This wasn't the usual legion of whispers, this was an army giving a terrifying command all at the same time. "NOW."
