Soul Stealer? *Possible Spoilers*

So this has been showing on Anime Unleashed, and I've watched up to Sacrifice for Nothingness. I have the gist of what is going on, but am a bit confused. He was stabbed by his adoptive mother to awaken his powers that were given to him b/c of the virus. But where does the underworld thing come into play? They keep saying stuff about it, but its hard to understand. Clarification please?

You mean Soul Taker? I've never watched it.

From my understanding of the anime, the main character is an angle...or a demon...or a human that became one of those...

Anyway, he fights evil hellish stuff....i think....

This show doesn't impress me.
In fact it is on my list of most messed up anime, right there below NGE.
My best arguement regarding this show is the fact that it has 8 Directors. Now follow me on this one. Most shows have 1 Director, and they do fine (some better than others). I've seen some shows with 2 Directors, they are okay, but they seem a little bit "messy." Now compound the problem with 2 Directors and multiply it by 4, and you get 8 Blasted Directors! It's a mess. Continuity flew out the window a long time ago, and there's no telling when it'll be coming back.
The animation looks like crap, all this computer stuff, man are animators getting lazy.
That, and to be honest, the story really isn't that interesting.

I have seen one half of an episode. It was pretty messed up from I seen. Because this one mother killed her own child so she may survive... or something.

Yeah, Its pretty messed up. But I like things that challenge my mind a little bit. I just can't wrap my mind around how the underworld thing ties into the story. Has no one seen it all the way through and can tell me?

Personally, I like the series.

Unlike many anime titles of this type, most of the story will be explained by the end... so just stick it out and some of it will begin to make sense as the story progresses.

Why Kyosuke was stabbed...
What the "Flickers" are, and why they were created...
Why Shiro is helping Kyosuke...
What the "Beta Applicon" is...
Who the "Kirihara" and "The Hospital" groups are and why they're fighting...
etc.

My favorite episode of the series is "The Skull of the Maiden" (episode 3), with the robotic hearse that shoots attack dolls.

The only downside is, it's on Anime Unleashed, which is notorious for playing episodes out of order.

I personally like Soul Taker.

As you watch later in the series, you see that he slowly becomes the devil. You know, the whole glowing red eyes, crying tears of blood thing.

Oh, yeah. I kept watching, and it makes more sense though. I liked it. Only thing that might have been bad about it would be how the scenes flash from one thing to the next, not really staying on one thing for too long. It was good though.

How many episodes are there supposed to be?

There are 13 episodes.

There's also a spin off series about Komugi (the cat-girl nurse) which I haven't seen yet. Judging by a handful of pics that I've seen though, I don't think it's connected to the "The Soul Taker" story.
