I'm pretty sure Sarda was at least a few hundred miles away at time of casting...

Either way, I think the next comic will feature the transporti modus crashing into the ground, and the force of impact will dislodge the taffy from BMs lungs... Somehow. <_<

I like how in the last few panels, you can see the Deathtrap rapidly approaching the ground. It's a nice effect.

I remember a quote from Kurosen... "anything that happens, happens to hurt Black Mage" or something like that. Even though Black Mage was completely innocent in the whole "antagonizing Sarda" thing, he still gets suffocated. Poor BM.

Sarda was most likely using Metamagic or "Mordenkhainen's Radio-casting aptitude" feat or somesuch other of the myriad thousands of ways wizards can make short ranged spells occur over several hundred miles.

He *is* Sarda.

And the spell wouldn't be balanced if it was long ranged.
