I also nominate Leon the Dark Knight because he has already taken over the world, the world just does not know it yet. Leon also sometimes refers to himself in the third person.

And I think I'll invoke the ultimate villian, the spam nazi Shiney, to consider closing this thread. :p
Seriously, though, the guy from "Oldboy". I feel bad, but I can't remember the name. He basically *spoilers* locked someone up for years in isolation. Then released him in an elaborate scheme to first make him fuck his daughter (without either knowing who the other is), then slowly reveal what he had done just as a revenge plot for starting a rumor that ended up with the villian's sister commiting suicide. This guy has some serious issues. So yeah, that guy. Seriously, what an asshole. The Wandering God |

Cyril (Star Ocean 2), He is at least a better villain because he wants to conquer the universe, rather than destroy it. Plus he acts very cunning.
Saruin (Romancing Saga: Minstrel Song): He's a God yet he wants revenge for getting his ass kicked by a mortal. Zeromus (FF4): His final form was badass. Enough said. Bokuohn (Romancing Saga 2): He had the largest amount of followers among the 7 Heroes. Plus he controls a ship that travels on land 0D-10 (Live A Live): He just wanted balance and harmony among everything on the ship; Cogito Ergosum, unlike the original: Demon King Odio. Darkcloud (FF3j): You needed to get all the dark warriors in order to defeat it. This introduces us to the concept that if the world is filled with an imbalance of light, darkness is needed to negate it and restore balance.

Ah, favorite villains. Where to start?
Aedelas Blackmoore from Warcraft: Lord of the Clans. I admit, it wasn't as good as the Warcraft II and III games, I just bought the novel on a whim, but the best thing is its villain, Blackmoore. I don't wanna give away what he does, but let's just say he does a Lot Of Bad Things, to the point where you, the reader, could just strangle him on sight. It takes someone truly evil to make the reader feel that way, and Blackmoore doesn't disappoint. I also think that many Disney movies feature memorable villains, but out of all of them, Scar from The Lion King is my favorite Disney villain. Here's an individual that is fueled only by cruel ambition, and expresses absolutely no remorse for his actions, yet whenever anyone confronts him over anything, he tries to act all innocent, even at the very end, he's all like, "Oh, Simba, you wouldn't harm your own uncle now, would you?" Evil 'til the very end. And I love Scar's voice. And we can't forget the most wicked villain of Japanese RPG history: Kefka from FF6. He's irritable, he says odd phrases, he appears at first to be an incompetent general, but once he obtains great power, he goes crazy, destroying life left and right, obtaining more power, and even succeeding in pulling off a plot twist no one saw coming back in 1994, and the strangest part is, his motive is simply that he enjoys it. He derives a sick, twisted, perverted pleasure from taking life and laughing his diabolical laughter. Truly someone who deserves to die. And, being the sci-fi nut that I am, I must bring up the Sith Lords from Star Wars. If you asked me who my favorite Star Wars villain was before 2005, I would've said Darth Vader. Cold, powerful, imposing, none could stand before him, but now, after having seen Episode III, I must give the nod to Emperor Palpaltine, AKA Darth Sidious. Don't get me wrong, Vader is still worthy of very honorable mention, but the things Sidious has done are unforgivable. Also, can't forget Darth Malak from the first Knights of the Old Republic. Once a promising Jedi, he was brought down the path of the Dark Side by Darth Revan, and he never went back. Malak kills with impunity, and runs the Sith Empire with an iron fist. Finally taking down Malak was one of the greatest gaming moments I've ever experienced, 'cause you know he had it coming. And no list would be complete without villains from LucasArts adventure games. Firstly, there's Lechuck from the Monkey Island games. No matter how many times he fails in his evil pursuits, he never gives up! And, he always tortures the hero, Guybrush Threepwood, over and over. Also worthy is Adrian Ripburger from Full Throttle. He's very cunning and calculative, and he's the most evil businessman I've ever known. The things he got away with, makes me mad just thinking about it, even though I've beaten the game like four times now. And last, but certainly not least, Hector Lemans from Grim Fandango. All he does is make the protagonist's life an absolute hell, and generally mess things up in the world, simply because he wants to. And he's got that sadistic grin and moustache. And lastly, I must mention at least one villainess, SHODAN from the System Shock games. I've only played SS2, but SHODAN was a menace like no other. She was everywhere, watching your every move, taunting you with her creepy dialogue, doing everything in her power to obtain godhood AND wipe you off the face of existence. I still have nightmares about SHODAN to this day. Seriously, I do. Four month late EDIT: I now second whoever said Albedo. Having played far enough into Xenosaga part 1, I can now say Albedo is another one of my favorite villains. He's got that same 'derives pleasure from death and destruction' complex like Kefka. But Albedo takes it up a notch by frightening a little girl by tearing off his own extremities and being able to talk, and laugh, when his head is severed! Even I was frightened when I saw that for the first time! If that's not evil, I don't know what is! And the way he laughs . . . I can't take it anymore . . . . . . . That bastard must die! *runs off to play more Xenosaga*

Ripburger! OH SHIZM I MISS FULL THROTTLE!
-Ben- "today I woke up in a dumpster. Best sleep I've had in months." Ben: Let me go, or else... Maureen: Or else what? Ben: I'll call you names! Maureen: Ooh! Like what? Ben: Diapered Dynamo! Roy Conrad, may you rest in peace. [edit] HOLY CARP! Mark Hamill did voice for Adrian Ripburger! Mark is everywhere! Last edited by Grandmaster_Skweeb; 05-05-2006 at 05:04 PM. |

*Grins and points at his avatar*
Kefka from FFVI, of course. *Continues to grin madly* Dude burned up towns for no reason, posioned and killed almost everyone in a castle, burned more towns, single-handedly decimated a small army of Espers, disturbed the precious balance between the Three Statues, became a god, actually DID take over the world, and turned into the source of all magic. And that's not counting his brutal, bloody, unforgiving, downright friggin' insane personality. And his kickassiness in general.
