I like FF1 the best, Theres a set of limitations, which lets you customize your party, by chosing combinations of differen't classes, for differen't strategy's. I picked 2 red mage's a black mage and a warrior, I alway's used haste on my warrior which doubles his attack, 7 times, and would bash them using the Excalibur Sword.

Final Fantasy 1 is the only Final Fantsy game I've ever played.

there was a poll on g4tv once on all ff games in all sorts of categories and ff7 came out #1 in all of them. summons:knights of the round, heroine:think it was tifa or aeris ine of them, hero:cloud(vincent was in the top 5 too), villian:sephiroth, then there was an overall and ff7 was just completly superior to all ff games.

The 1st ff game i played was 10, and that was the game that really got me in to rpg's. i liked the combat system, as everyone (until very late in the game) had different abilities and skills which they brought to the battle, and you could easily change the group around (so if you suddenly needed a particular spell you could easily use it). it made it a very accesable game for someone new to the series and to rpg's as a whole, so i could easily get into it and enjoy it.
i played 10-2 and yes it WAS a bit of a disaster (dam stupid dresspheres)but it continued the story of the previous game and expanded upon the world that i had come to know. i have recently bought ff7 and 8, mainly because i want to see what the previous games where like and see what all the fuss is about concerning 7. the only problem is i know a lot about the plot already (the death of aeris for example), so playing it with all this prior knowledge is difficult and i probably wont enjoy it as much as i might have otherwise. so far though i think it is quite good, the plots fairly interesting (though i imagine it will get better later, when i get deeper into it), i think most of the characters are pretty good (i especially like redXIII and barret, but cant say that i think much of cloud, he seemed quite dark early on but now seems to have completely lost any defining characteristics and seems not to have any motivation, but thats just my interpretation). im still unsure of whether i like the materia system or not (having got used to playing 10, where all the characters had skills suited to them, suddenly having the ability to give any character any ability i want is unusual), but i can see the side benefits of this in that you can mix and match and come up with different combos(if you know you are going to need a particular skill set, or if you current one isnt working well then you can change it and try something els). in that way its similar to how guild wars works in that you can try out new builds which you can try out and tweak to you liking, or to whatever situation your in. i havent yet played 8(i had a quick look at the opening scenes but didnt get very far), so i shall update this post when i get round to it with my opinions on that game. soon though we will have 12 landing on these shores (finally), so i will have that to play through as well. again i will update this post when i have played and (no doubt) completed that as well. then theres 13 coming out for ps3 (though only god, or a time traveler from the year 2155, will know when thats coming out!!!) which frankly, looks AMAZING! i have the trailer downloaded on my psp and cant stop watching it. i think 13 could very well become the best ff game ever, if the trailer is anything to go by. so to sum up: my favourite so far is 10, mainly because it was the 1st one i played and which got me interested in rpg's, but with 7 and 8 waiting to be played, and 12 arriving shortly this may change. and then they may all be outdone by 13 (im expecting this to be truly AWSOME!!) -Hawk PS: sorry about the long post, i really must try and stop posting so much

Are you sir a bit of a FF7 fanboy maybe? Oh and not picking on you in particular this sentiment is for all similar posts. As for me? I really don't have a favourite overall, though it would be between 6,7,8. I like the characters in FF6 (especially Kefka), I like the story and the general atmosphere in FF7 and I like the complexity of the junctions and the pace of the battles(as long as I don't use too many summons) in FF8. I know which ones I don't like. 10-2(It just made me feel dirty playing it for a number of reasons, not all sexual), 11(costs too much), FFTA(Put simply it was too slow paced for me I like my turn based strategy Fire Emblemy), Mystic Quest(It's fucking Mystic Quest) and Crystal Chronicles(none of my friends had a GBA except one and he didn't have the connector cable because he had no Cube, and the single player sucks). And keep in mind I haven't played 3(except on an old untranslated rom like 5 years ago), 5 and FFT, so they could be added to either of the above lists at a later date. Quote:

I have to say that tactics advance is my favorite even though i haven't played many of them. The game was good enough to draw 150 hours of my time into it. No other game but runescape has done that for me.

A tie between Tactics (For it's overly deep, some might say needlessly complicated, storyline and massive array of characters) and FF7 (For just being my first love. You always have a special place for your first.)

Mine is Tactics. Mostly because the plot, while convulted at points, is -very- worth the hundred or so hours it takes to get to the end. Though other FF plots have similar stories, they're not really worth putting that much time and effort into it.
