Default No More Heroes.

Badass new game from Suda 51, the guy behind Killer 7. It's for the Wii. Basicially, you could say it's a video game version of Kill Bill, since you're an assassin charged with killing off other assassins to become the top assassin. Your guy, Travis, carries a beam katana around with him. He's also an otaku. Yep, you're playing as a nerd with a beam sword. Control wise the nunchuck controls Travis whilst a combination of the remote and buttons controls the sword.

Info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_More_Heroes

I have a NOM UK interview with Suda 51 about the game I could try scanning at some point.

Trailer here: http://uk.gamespot.com/wii/action/heroes/media.html

See, this game is going to be what Red Steel should have been - swordfights for the Revolution with a tounge-in-cheek plotline.

The problem is, it's Killer 7's developer, and Killer 7 was half-assed to here and back. Let's hope they don't repeat the pattern.

I've been watching this game since I first heard about it. I have to admit, I'm kind of torn. I love the concept, but well, didn't exactly like Killer 7.

...at all.

Tydeus will become famous soon enough. Eventually. Maybe.

Well, see, all I have to do is convince my roomate to buy it, then play it while she's at work (she's a stripper, so, that's exactly when I have free time. It's fucking excellent.). It does come out in the next six months, right? And, finally, I love the whole nerd-at-the-helm aspect of the game. Reminds me of Hiro Nakamura.

Also, Octopus Prime -- Best. Name. Ever.

Haha, the screenshot of Travis Touchdown in that article is horrendous! But I like the idea thus far. A sword-fighting game is to the wii as butter is to bread, and I foresee it being the highest type of game to be produced for the thing.

Also, is a "beam katana", that like beam as in lightsaber or beam as in made out of wood?

Seems like a pretty descent idea to me, I'll keep my eye on it. As for a the beam katana, anything that even midly resembles a lightsaber on the Wii is okay in my book.
