Nope, except for Unicron and those two guys from Lithone, all the casualties in the movie were characters who debuted in the first season, including the characters whose deaths were only implied by merit of the fact that they never appeared again (Shockwave and Huffer). And with the exception of the Insecticons, we know exactly how they showed up.

Meh. I will always prefer the Marvel comic series, Beast Wars, and IDW to the cartoon. But I'm strange like that.

I didn't get too deeply into Season 2 of G1 anyway. And everything I remember about Transformers: the Movie is still kind of blurry.

Nothing strange about that at all. The alternative, well, that would make you a friggin' LUNATIC!

Also, despite animation which went down the pooper more often then not and the fact that most of the most awesome characters were dead, Season 3 was pretty well the best the original series got.

Now my only real problem with Transformers is the fact that Heart of Steel was a one-shot.

Now that irritated me. I will have to sate my thirst by reading Transformers: Extraction and the next Beast Wars comic they do.

I like the trailer with the added music. It makes it feel...well, more TF to me. I didn't like the original's music since it was put together more like a horror movie that turns into an action movie on accident (The Devil May Cry of movies, or something).

And was Beast Wars not the best incarnation of the Transformers T.V. show? I mean the old-school ones were o.k., but I loved the story line of Beast Wars. BTW was the Rhinoceroses with the two submachine guns not the most bad ass character ever?

First, all of the characters in the movie are not the same as the ones in the original Transformers. At best, they'll be based on them, but not the same.

Kinda like Rogue in the X-Men movies & Rogue in the comics/cartoon. In the comics & cartoon (except for X-Men: Evolution, which came after the movie, so it doesn't count) Rogue was a fully grown woman. In the movie, she was a teen.

And secondly, for all intents & purposes, the movie seems to be trying to take a realistic & serious take on Transformers. So even if you got a Cheetor character, he wouldn't be anything like your Beast Wars one.

Cullen (the original Optimus Prime) was a treat for older fans, but he won't be the same character. Optimus & (I hope) Megatron might be the only characters who get their original voice actors. Other than that, expect all original VAs.

1. Nope, no Cheetor. But we DO have Bumblebee and Jazz, which is cause of celebration.

2. Yep, BW was the end-all, be-all of Transformers.

3. Nope, Deadpool is the most badass character ever, and Rampage was the most badass transformer character ever.

...well, Rampage or Depthcharge.

OH, or Galvatron from the Marvel comics. The dude was a friggin' force of Nature!

As far as Autobots: The Movie, all I have to say is this:

1. Ultra Magnus? WTF was that even about?

2. You could've at least have Optimus hold out for the first like, half of the movie.

3.Why the hell didn't Rodimus Prime turn into a goddamn Mack Truck like you all know he should have? I mean come on, no self-respecting Autobot is gonna follow any goddamn gussied up Family Recreational Vehicle.
