Anyone else enthralled by this gem of a DS game?

I want this game, but some of the more hard to find DS games, are impossible to get down in the rural area where i live. (The nearest GameStop is 45 mins away)
Just don't spoil it for me!

It's so hard to talk about it without spoiling something. All I'll say plotwise is that the coincidences are around a Lost S1 level of "Uh... 'kay." At least so far, and I feel like the game is going to explain why this is so.
I like it, though. Entirely about interrogating people and examining objects. A delicious neo-noir atmosphere pervades everything. Though, game over is the lamest thing ever. You'll see...

Just finished the game. While the game is well written and superbly put together I did find it a touch predictable. I had the plot mostly figured out by chapter 3, and by chapter 6 had just about all the pieces put together. The game did however still manage to surprise me quite a few times. Even if you figure out things ahead of time it doesn't take away from either the story or the game play. In fact it can actually increase the suspense, sitting there, waiting for the character to put the pieces together.
In the end when everything is revealed and the connections are all solid, you're left with a feeling of closure with everything that has happened. I found no loose ends worth speaking of. I for one would like to see Kyle Hyde in another adventure. Lets go Nintendo! Sequal! All in all I consider this a must own if you like mystery games, noir storries, puzzles, or Phoenix Wright. Oh but before I go I have one thing to put in spoiler mode, Nothing big but it annoyed me heavily. Chapter 4 is the only chapter you can get change in for the vending machine! You have to show your cash to Dunning when he is behind the counter. I didn't find this out until chapter 8.

Beat this game recently and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's of decent length, great story, no card-board cutout characters, challenging puzzles and interesting gameplay. The only problem I have with it is the fact that I have no motivation to replay it. I heard there's alternate endings but who wants to go through 8-10 hours of gameplay to see that?
Now to focus my attention on Kirby: Squeak Squad. |
