Yeah, it just isn't the smart way to go. Wait till your mage can cast some sort of teleportation either by scroll or levelling.

Go ahead and tempt fate. I would think a Necklace of Adaption would work, since it constantly circulates air around your face, even in water or vacuum. If you need to go to the ethereal plane really fast, bring a portable hole into the bag of holding... though it's probably more of a quick, one-way trip to your character's particular plane of eternal rest.

The best way I've found to avoid harm whilst in a bag o' holding is to be dead. That is the only way my character has ever made it from one point to another in the same condition he started when entering the bag. Of course this may not be what you had in mind...

Hehe, teleportation. I remember a particular botched teleportation spell back in 2e, that ended up dropping me and my friend, naked and unarmed (long story), smack dab in the middle of a port that had recently been taken over by orcs.
Our wizard botched most of his teleportation attempts that day, and ended up scattering us to the winds.

Something like a INT12 fighter who changes to a INT18 wizard and vice versa, but needs to spend time between changes to adjust to the new stats and thus would spend a day or two as an INT12 (and slowly rising) wizard. There are only two Normal schools of magic, Arcane and Divine. The third "Semi-Magic' as some DM's refer to it as is "Psionics".

I get basically all the RPG metaphors but I dont know the official rules and stat/class choices.
Can anyone offer a link that could possibly offer a straight pair of rules to this forum. and maybe a Dungeon master. |
