CrazyBen will become famous soon enough. Eventually. Maybe.

I guess, but what if you have a whole bunch of targets? I mean, watch 'Black Hawk Down' and try to tell me the an automatic shotgun wouldn't have helped there.

Of course, modern warfare is moving farther and farther away from mass combat.

On a side note, is it legal to buy one of those things?

Well the point is that its a force multiplier. That and it actually has a greater effective range because of the recoil suppression system. The high explosive grenade round is different in that it has stabilizing fins and thus can be fired over extreme distances for a shot gun as well as clearing a room in one shot.

Also, no self respecting soldier goes into battle with an empty clip and a bag of bullets. One it takes up twice the space and two it takes crap loads of time to load the clip. When going into battle with this you would carry either a couple of loaded drums or box clips.

SithDarth said over Yaplet that it's only going to be allowed for military and police use, but hey, eventually you'll see them being sold on ebay or something. Must be expensive as hell though...

I bet $5 this is in the next Grand Theft Auto game. If not, it should be.

It's cool and all, hell of a kick down doors and say hello kind of gun, but ammo size and weight, drum cartridges and too precise of a magazine loader make me skeptical. Most weapon systems that utilize large ammo are two man units. I don't think I'd be a fan of having to wait for my ammo guy to pass me the next clip when I'm in close range...

I will remain a fan of the MP5 with double tap trigger for close range applications, its light quick and short enough to bring around fast.

Bah, I invented this when I was 7. No, really, I did. I fucking swear I did!

Although my design was based off of a minigun in order to optimise the firing rate, whilst keeping the weapon cooler. (I had recently seen Predator).

I jokingly called it the Shoot-gun (instead of shotgun).

I'm actually surprised this hasn't been done sooner.

PS: I also invented Gunblades before I ever saw FF8, though I called it a gunsword, and it actually fired a projectile allowing for instantaneous switches between melee and ranged weapons, instead of the vibroblade type that FF8 used.

I feel scared for two reasons now. 1. Things this powerful exist. 2. Sithdarth knows about them. Seriously, one day, someone on the forums is going to piss him off, and he'll track down every single one of us, and do massive overkill on us.

Because we're all nerds who cream our pants thinking about new weapons, conspiracy theories, or D&D plans.

We actually keep him under routine surveillance as a caution against just such a scenario.
