Team Fortress 2

So the beta starts sometime today. I'm assuming that quite a few people are going to be on when it starts. Who's looking forward to it and what class do you think that you might play?

I was thinking of playing either Heavy Weapons Guy, or the Sniper since those were the two classes I played most in Team Fortress Classic.

Waiting for the rest of the Orange Box games to come out will be painful, even though it will only take a few weeks, at least we/I will have the TF2 beta to tide me over.

Do you know when exactly the Beta is supposed to start? I'm looking around on steam and it says that I am currently unable to participate in any betas.

Anyway, I think the first class I will try will probably be a Pyro.

No man, I don't. Wish I did as I have been checking all day since I got home every hour or so. Seems like they will be meanies and not release it until 1 minute before midnight, and then claim that they did put the game up when they said they would. I can see it now.

Edit: Last I heard, 9 PM. But what time zone that means I have no clue, if it is PST then I'm out of luck for getting it tonight, which pretty much sucks since I planned on playing it today to the exclusion of almost all else.

Arlia Janet: No, you also have to pre-order Orange Box. Orange Box has Half Life 2, Episodes one and two, some portal game, and Team Fortress 2.

I'm not sure about X-box live.

You have to pre-order it through steam. So only PC-gamers get this beta, sorry Xbox owners. No sarcasm intended. Luckily the game is coming out soon anyway, you won't have to wait too long. Unless you are a PS3 person, then you have to wait another 2-3 weeks unless you break down and just get it for PC.

i'm pretty hyped for TF2. never played much of the original (wasn't into FPSs at the time). i'll be getting it on the 360, since i don't have a properly equiped PC at my disposal. prolly be playing as the Engineer or Demolitions. maybe Pyro.

Why, yes, I do want to hind this game in a dark alley way and have my way with it. All night long.

Plus, you know, the Orange Box is an Amazing deal, It costs like, what, $50? For 5 games? That's nothing to sneeze at, my friends.

Also, I really want TF2, but... I suck at CS:S, so I'm sure my skills will translate well to this new game...

Team fortress is really nothing like counter strike. Counterstrike punishes you for going gung-ho and charging solo into 5 enemies. Team Fortress allows you to do that if you are crazy enough, you may even kill them if you are a god.

Edit: I have played the game gods were made of. Team Fortress 2 is as good as they were saying and then some. Just from the 2 hours or so I've played I'd put this in my top 5 list of games easily.
