well quincy one is the only one explained in detail. They form spirit particles under their feet (same technique used to stand in mid-air) then they move those spirit particles.

Its why into hueco mundo Ichigo and Chad were running there while Uryu was calmly riding the spirit particles there

Ichigo was doing the same thing as well, forming spirit particles. He just sucked at it.

I don't think Chad was able to do that at all.

yea but unlike Uryu he wasn't able to turn them into a wicked cool spirit particle transport device

I think that has more to do with Ichigo just being absolutely horrible with spirit particle manipulation. The only reason he can even flash steps seems to be it came to him instinctually through Zangetsu and his natural fighting ability.

On a side note I think probably the only reason Rukia's transference thing worked on any sort of reasonably effective level was because Ichigo already had death god powers and his crazy huge base spiritual energy. It was so huge in just is normal human body that it confused Rukia's sensors and allowed him to bust out of a kido. My guess is that was basically the only reason she thought it'd even give him a chance of beating a hollow. In short, it'd probably do very little for just your average joe on the street.

Poor Joe Average Smith... nothing ever works for that guy...

Anyway, the kido thing is pretty much spot on... the higher they go in number the hardest is to do them (Like Aizen, who is "OMGDEUS'X MACHINA" but couldnt perform a lvl 90 Kido perfectly)

And Shingiami Shunpo/Flash Step is unique, yes, if im not msitaken, they burst Energy from the feet isntead of charging it in like Quincy do. But Hollow/Arrancar Sonido works the same as Shinigami's

Also, it's spoiler, but a minor one... Chad GETS something LIKE Flashstep later on. But it's the weaker of the bunch

Yeah, I just sorta weakened myself again.
