$5 000?
No way in hell should anyone spend that much money on a gaming computer. All from NCIX as of the time of this post, matched part-for-part: Processor: $329.99 RAM: $199.99 (For 4 GB!) Video Card: $594.62 Hard Drive: $93.83 OS: $167.90 DVD Drive: $37.49 Sound Card: $199.99 Physics Card: $144.98 (<- Biggest waste of money, IMO) Finally, to finish the deal with some necessities that you didn't include: Case: $118.95 (Antec 900) Motherboard: $101.96 (Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L, quite similar to mine) Power Supply: $131.81 Toss in another $300 for monitor, mouse, and keyboard, and probably another $100 for either a decent pair of headphones or some speakers (Not my area of expertise), and keeping in mind that a lot of these parts are overkill, we come to a total of $2521.51 Canadian, before taxes. If you're paying anything over $3000 you're getting massively ripped off.

*Points to the above post*
Add on 100 to that total and that's what my PC cost. I have no clue where you got the 5k thing from, man o.O my biggest concern is heating/cooling. Currently I run a PC without anything beyond the basic inboard fan. Will that sort of setup be okay with the 8800 and the 3g ram and dual 3g processor?

Yeah, but if I were spending that much on a computer, I'd go ahead and spring for a after market heat sink/fan. I mean, as long as you don't overdo it, it's really not going to be that much more onto the price. And you'll not have to worry about overheating issues afterwards.

The stock heatsink on the processor is usually pretty good; I'm not sure how Dell plays with it. The RAM should be a non-issue. The 8800 will be a beast to cool, though; if there's an option to get some extra fans, take it. Otherwise, I can't help you. I haven't bought a Dell in ages.
Once you get your computer up and running, you can use Speedfan to keep an eye on your temperatures. I'd strongly advise this. Well, I took a look at the Dell site, and they don't give you a lot of area. Personally, I have to suggest that you buy this independently, and without the sound and PhysX cards. You're saving at least $350 canadian, probably more with some smart shopping, and you'll get to know your computer much better. There are risks, however; if something does go wrong, you'll have fewer options in terms of service.
