Default So I Just Watched The Godfather

The Godfather

And it really is the repository of all male behavior and idiosyncrasies, isn't it?

Quote:
I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse

Women and children can be careless, but not men.

Never get angry. Never make a threat. Reason with people.

A lawyer with his briefcase can steal more than a hundred men with guns.

Never hate your enemies. It clouds your judgement.

Being kind to a fellow man is profitable, in every sense. Both personally and bottom line.

We don't discuss business at the table.

Fredo, you're my older brother, and I love you. But don't ever take sides with anyone against the Family again. Ever.

Leave the gun, take the cannolis.

In Sicily, women are more dangerous than shotguns.

I, too, don't believe in drugs. For years I paid my people extra to stay away from that sort of stuff, but someone comes along saying, I've got powders where if you put up a three to four thousand dollar investment, you can make fifty thousand distributing, then there is no way to resist it. I want to keep it respectable. I don't want it near schools. I don't want it sold to children!
I thought that the film was very empowering, and as a fan of gangster movies, I've got to say that this film deserves all of its acclamation.

Watch it now or your life will be as meaningless and random as spoonful of alphabet soup if you don't!

Arlan, as a manager at McDonalds, you are like a Godfather there. This movie will give you tips on who to take as your consiligere, and when to attack the other families, like KFC, A&W, Wendies, and Jack In The Box.

Regarding the fairly bad The Godfather Part III, the final scene where Michael just falls out of the chair dead at some ridiculously old age was so freaking Narm I couldn't stop laughing for a while.

I like this movie, it's a pretty good rendition of a book into a movie as opposed to a lot of movies, even if they did stick "the flashback" of Vito Corleone's life story into the second movie for some reason. I thought that was kind of awkward but I guess it was supposed to parallel what was happening to Michael in that one (not that I can think of any parallels, but...). This movie has some of the best dialogue and dramatic death scenes ever.
