What Video Game/Comic Book Movies Would You Like To See Made?

I think the Ace Attorney games would make a better animated series than a full-length movie. The nature of the cases lends itself better to something taken in 22-minute chunks.

A live action movie based on the Hellsing MANGA would be great, though I'm not sure I could handle any other voice for Alucard other than Crispin Freeman. Maybe Johnny Depp. Some people say he's overrated but I think he could pull it off well. I'd just be worried they'd try and make a huge romance deally involving either Seral or Integra. They'd have to split into parts probably, but maybe by the time they finished it the manga would finally be finished...

Also: Portal Movie... I'd watch it, but there is no way in hell Hollywood wouldn't break it.

just wanted to inform you that there is already an OAV called hellsing ULTAMATE whitch sticks as closely to the plot of the manga as carpener's glue is to wood.

on a second note i could see a well made metroid movie if they kept romance out and put some sort of connection to th past (or else the movie would be a full 2 hours of killing and collecting powerups... not that thats a bad thing)

They would easily be directed by Quentin Tarantino, as his style in Kill Bill almost directly matches that of No More Heroes.

Shadow of the Colossus would be too epic for one movie. They'd try something different, like, less colossi.

I would really, really like to see a movie based on any "tales of" game. Seriously. Some parts would need to be cut or something since they're all huge or maybe made into a trilogy or something, but they'd be all awesome.

Nah, but seriously, I find that games don't translate to movie format well for the specific reason that the two are vastly different art forms. Games with plot lines, notably RPGs, have too many roadblocks. First off is that they're sometimes movies anyway (see above), and second off is that the story is told in a way that takes more time than a movie can offer out of sheer necessity. A movie based on the plot of a game is either going to feel rushed, even to people not familiar with the game, or it's going to have to have a lot of stuff cut out, which means that the makers have to pick out the most important parts of a story with very little dead wood to start with.

Although, I wouldn't mind seeing a Chrono Cross movie, if they could decide on a story path to follow. It would really be hurt less, considering its shorter length and relatively simple overall storyline. The only thing I'd actually cut out for time reasons is dealing with Serge becoming Lynx due to the fact that if you play the game through with the intent to reverse it, it really doesn't last all that long in comparison to fitting the story to two hours. Really, that would involve a bit of tweaking, but I don't see it being a huge problem.

Also, cutting out most of the characters. Really, all you need is Serge, Lynx, Kid, probably Guile (for a third member), and maybe Leena (but probably not, considering her small story role). Past that, supporting roles would probably just be Viper, Riddel, Glenn, Harle, the Prophet, Radius, Leena, Marge, and Doc and Ohrla. And, well, Steena and Direa. And Orcha, but for the love of humanity, hopefully with a different outfit. :gonk:

Really, I think it would work nicely if done right.
