Default Shavin'

Hello there, hoomans, how is everyone?
So i went and watched Sweeney Todd, blah, blah, blah.
Really, it's all explained in this link:
http://www.brassgoggles.co.uk/bg-for...1812#msg101812
I'd have posted the images here, but it was easier to do this.
Andway, that razor i made is what i shave with now. I just finished shaving, actually, and it's the best shave i've ever had.
So what does everyone else (that is: those who can) shave with?

I use that Mach 3 Power thing, the one that vibrates. It's not bad, does pretty well. I've learned though that a hot shower is a must before shaving, otherwise one rips one's face to pieces. Seriously, hurts like a mofo. And under the jawline is damn near impossible to make smooth.

But yeah, that's what I use. I've been interested in using a straight edge, even just once. It's more for, I donno... being able to hold one and flip it out and, like, run it over my face, though. That's just so cool! It's just the whole face-laceration thing that bugs me.

That razor is pretty cool though, it looks good.

I sport a beard most of the year but when I do shave I use a conjoint razor which has a normal modern set of blades and a straight edge.

Let's see. I use a Mach 3 for my face. I use a beard trimmer for my head, at least until the bumps on the top of my head go away and I don't need the "shadow" to hide them. Afterward, I don't know. Probably Mach 3, since it's what I use on my face. Or, I could try one of those finger blades that are designed for shaving your head.

Ha! Someone mows their lawn, it seems. I tried shaving in the shower, once. It came out all patchy though, piece of crap. Still though, it was pretty nice.

Also, is shaving one's head relatively simple? I've given it a thought for the summer but I fear that dis-ease, coupled with my unsightly scalp, would be enough to deter me from taking that path.

Simple, or easy? It is quite simple. You merely run a razor over your head until there is no hair left. How long THAT takes depends entirely on what kind of razor and how much hair you have. The day I shaved all of my hair off (came down to my shoulder-blades when it was straight, for reference) it took me almost an hour. My beard trimmer isn't exactly designed for shaving a hair off of a head, so I had to go over it again with my Mach 3 afterward to get all of the patches of visible stubble. Now, it takes about five-fifteen minutes, depending on whether I'm fully shaving or using the beard trimmer to keep the shadow. A piece of advice though: wait until it's at least spring, because losing all that warming hair all at once during the winter months sucks.

I use a Gilette Fusion (no power( mainly, the kind they send you when you turn 18.

In the... goatee zone however I use a pair of mustache scissors to cut it all down to stubble. I HATE the feeling of a clean shave around my mouth.

I don't really use gel, and most of the time I don't shave immediately after a shower because the mirror fogs up. It's not the cleanest shave, but I'm okay with it.

I do want a straight edge as well, to be honest, and recently I shaved most of my hair off. It felt nice, even in winter, until it rained and I had no hood or umbrella or even a beanie - that really sucked.
