Was it that big, though? I'm kind of naturally unqualified to assess size differentials.

However, if Optimus is edible by Cloverfield's standards, doesn't it just make sense that Prime would try and "Shadow of Colossus" the big guy?

Think of it this way.

Optimus was the size of a Semi truck.

Cloverfield was shorter then the statue of liberty. The pure size has nothing to do with it. Optimus would've survived as well as he survived the 86 movie.

I wonder if the cloverfield creature falls under the types of lifeforms Optimus Prime wouldn't harm, if so, then Optimus is toast. Otherwise, I guess space lasers are better than rockets and guns against mutated suerbeings.

Is there any other than the original? Godzilla wins, hands down. Both of them are probably about as immune to damage as each other, but Godzilla has atomic breath, human level intelligence and has killed things far stronger than Cloverfield before now.
