I have been unable to actually clear boss battle mode on intense, but I have gotten to Tabu with Lucas at full health. I don't really have a lot of practice fighting Tabu, though, so a lot of his moves kill me easily.
Lucas' most powerful moves are aerial down A, aerial forward A, and PK Freeze if you want to stay away from the enemy. Some of the bosses can heal you, specifically Master Hand's bullets and Duon's pink laser attack.
