So Squareenix's latest project, TWEWY, is bound to be coming out soon. I was playing the nice English European rom, but will be picking it up when it hits stateside regardless. From what I've played of it, I'll throw down a summary:
*STANDARD GAME PREVIEW SUMMARY, SKIP IF YOU KNOW/DON'T CARE* The game itself is divided up into chapters, each containing one "day" in TWEWY's "game." Now I won't go into details, but despite the fact that the game only lasts one week, you could say you get a lot of gameplay for your seven day round. The new, interesting part about TWEWY isn't the lack of zippers on the main character's outfit (which he's even nice enough to point out to you, if you catch it.), it is the battle system. Your main character Neku runs around on the bottom screen, controlled entirely by the stylus, and your partner in the game is on top, controlled by the a\b\x\y or D-pad, depending on how you are handed. The top screen with your partner, however, has auto-play mode, meaning you can let the AI take over the top screen assault and just focus on the lower screen. Attacks are determined by pins, which are activated by moving the stylus in different ways, and so on but it gets really complex if you're not playing it. Another unique feature is the Equipment System. All your equipment is divided into "Brands," and each brand has a popularity rating for a certain time/place that seems to be randomized, but is affected if you use certain brands in battle. For instance, if you wanted brand A to be powerful, but it wasn't favored, just fight a few battles using brand A and it will build up popularity. All in all, very interesting game. *CEASE STANDARD REVIEW* So anyone else looking forward to this? Edit: Slashes don't work with the letter b, apparently.

I got it. Really fun. Just hating that I can't get new pins.

Also *Spoilers concerning later in the game* when you get to use Beat as your partner, that's where I'm diggin it comes into play. Joshua was pretty cool but became God Partner when he gets to levitate.
But Shiki is pretty cool as a partner, especially when she opens up to you. It's a pretty cool game, has nice boss fights and whatnot, and the GM is a lot of fun to go up against.

I really hate the battle system. Neku doesn't move half the fucking time when I want him to, the attacks are unresponsive, and I can't control Shiki while trying to deal with the clusterfuck on the bottom screen. If I leave Shiki alone and let autobattle take over for her, she invariably gets her ass kicked every time. How the fuck am I supposed to watch both screens at once?

I mashed left or right and occaisonally made sure she was killings things still.
I hardly looked at it, so I can't help you. Plus, I never found moving a problem, since I used pins that either shot things at them (MIND BULLETZ) or moved me pretty much up to them (The swordan pinz). Healing also, but that one was more minor and used more in boss battles.
