No I'm guessing it will be turn based where the only element of Sonic speed is that sonic can move one more square then everyone else in the game per round.

I couldn't stand it. Maybe I didn't play it long enough, but I didn't like how it handled. You had no CHOICE but to run, and for me, that actually ruined the feeling of speed. Also the controls were terrible.

but obnoxious design choices such as leveling up to get good controls make it average.

Well there you go. I guess I never got the "make the game better" skill.
