Akane nodded at Rem's advice, the boost magic taking effect and a familiar power flooding through her. She turned to Laraje and threw him a mock salute. I specialize in Boost magic too, but I'll take your spell with thanks. It saves me from using my own magic.
She flexed her fists and balled them up again, the brass knuckles glinting as she prepared to charge. Taking a moment to crouch a little more, she kicked up some dirt and ran towards the nearest Swordholder. Her left arm cocked back and her right stayed in front to provide defense. As she closed in to the Swordholder, she skidded and crouched down, her momentum letting her still skid towards her prey. As she reached him, her left arm shot up, aiming a vicious brass knuckled uppercut at the poor recruit's chin. |

It all sounded like wonderful dinner plans for Rudy. A sudden gust of wind roared passed his ears. "I feel a good wind at my back," he said cheerfully, "That's always a good omen." With a burst of air the pale sprinter rushed at the nearest target. Rudy kicked up the grass. His bare feet pounded the soft green turf between his starting position and the second Swordholder. Far away he heard a eagle shriek a predatory proclamation.
Me? I'm my own animal, Akane had said. A woman after my own heart, Rudy thought. He briefly became a beast, running on all fours before pouncing on the unfortunate grunt. Rudy grabbed the Swordholder by the shoulders. Baring his fangs Rudy went for the most exposed bit of flesh with a baneful bite.

Ok Arrowmakers then, those coffeemakers are just outside of my range. Cael watched as his allies rushed right into combat. He was waiting for the perfect time to lash out. He also had to pick the right spot or there would be a lot of collateral damage. A few seconds later he saw his opportunity arise, “Time to taste the fires of hell” (Blazing Blast) Cael launched a large stream of blistering fire towards the nearest Arrow Maker. He then readied himself for his next attack but this time his form was different, calm and collected. This stance magnified his use of ice.

The white haired man glanced about, assessing how things were turning out... the CoffeeWarmers weren't in range yet... but the archers were, and they had decent range. The SwordHolders were never going to reach him, and Ming would have to go through Rudy and Akane to get to him... unlikely. There was only one person on whom he could vent.
Leraje turned to the remaining ArrowMaker, the one not burning alive, and focused his whole person on him, making sure the ArrowMaker saw him, recoqnized him... and pulled back both hands, raising them up by his head... almost like he was being arrested, then suddenly, swiftly, he pushed both forward violently, tearing the air in front of him, and sending out a force that grew in intensity with every inch and foot it left from him. By the time the gale winds reached the ArrowMaker... they were more than sufficient. "Gust Rush" occured... slamming into the man, and preventing any arrows to be fired by him, lest the arrow fly back and impale himself, and even more ideally, the man thrown off his balance and collapse, removing him from combat until Ming was down.

Before Beladere had managed to do anything, his allies engaged all available foes. Everyone else was just out of his reach. There was not much left for him to do but hang vainly in the air, unless he could create a more interesting situation.
Lowering the effects of reverse gravity on his body for a moment, he slowly lowered himself to the ground. As soon as he reached it, he pushed forward, releasing him self from normal gravity again and launching himself forward. He was hanging high in the air, totally helpless. Maybe this could attract that lovely lady on the other side of the field...

Armored Bishoujo: "Yu-Gi-Oh the Abridged Series is more addicting than WoW. Stay clear of it."
Akane's fist launched her Swordholder off the ground and onto his ass. He struggled to get back up, and got slammed back down by one of Radian's hooves. "I kind of saw what you did to Richard," she said. "This guy should feel glad he never made a pass at you." Rudy and his Swordholder struggled, but it was a short-lived struggle. Rudy was a superior fighter, and was of course motivated by hunger. The swordholder was an untrained recruit making perhaps four figures a year. Rudy's health was full, but you can never have too much health, I suppose. Cael's victim lost his wooden longbow, clothes, and some skin to his magical flames. Needless to say, weaponless and naked and covered in miscellaneous first and second degree burns, fled with his arms in the air. Leraje's Arrowmaker opponent was launched all the way back to Ming. He was about to get back up, but was suddenly impaled in the shoulder by one of his arrows. "Off to the infirmary with you," Ming said as the Arrowmaker got up, clutching his wound. "I can...still fight," the Arrowmaker managed, drawing a knife with his uninjured arm. "Brave man. All right, let's get to work." Ming charged forward with the Arrowmaker in tow, catching up to the Coffeewarmers as they began their attacks. With his bow destroyed, the remaining Arrowmaker was little more than a pathetic Breaker without a Launch ability. "Fire on the vampire, mages." Ming commanded. Both Coffeewarmers targeted Rudy and conjured forth Fire Bolts. The encryptions seemed solid, but the mages lacked the focus to produce serious magic. Still, two Fire Bolts against a vampire weak against fire in general were going to deal out some hurt. Ming took her giant axe in one arm, reared it back and- "Centrifugal Axecannon!" -launched the heavy weapon straight at Akane. Since the Rushers were going to be the bigger threats against her casters, Ming decided that they were best dealt with first, even if the battle was so one-sided. Then she assumed a peculiar stance. "I failed to mention this but," Rem cautioned. "Colonel Ming is the reigning wrestling champion of this base. I would advise not letting her get a hold of the physically weaker units." SITREP Update: Rudy is draining Swordholder A and regaining health (even though he isn't actually injured yet). Rudy is currently in the spell path of two Fire Bolts from the Coffeewarmers. Akane and Radian have defeated Swordholder B. Akane is in direct line of Ming's launched greataxe. Leraje is feeling somewhat winded, but given that Ming's within range, he may not want to take a breather. Beladere is fine. Arrowholder A has no bow. He does have a knife, though. He is not attacking anyone and is within range of everyone. Arrowholder B is loooooong gooooone. Ming is now within range. She's thrown her axe at Akane and is now using her wrestling arts, a 3 LP blunt martial art. "It may be difficult to ignore the Coffeewarmers," Rem advised. "But opponents like Colonel Ming should get top priority. Believe me, I'd rather dodge Fire Bolts all afternoon than suffer two minutes in the ring with Ming." Unmitigated terror griped Rudy. Fire, no matter how small, from the slight flickering candle to the grandest roaring bonfire stopped him in his tracks. Images of his burning undead body flooded his frenzied fearful head. He shook himself back to reality. Dodging one Fire Bolt, stupidly easy. Dodging two Fire Bolts, nerve-rackingly impossible. He retracted his fangs from the Swordholder and shoved him into the path of one Fire Bolt.
Pivoting on one foot, he gracefully fell to a lounging position on the grassy lawn, hoping a prone target would be harder to hit. He looked down the path of the second Fire Bolt to the Coffeewarmer it had originated from. He gazed into her face and gave a terrific simile. "You don't want to hurt me," he said activating Charm, "You're just doing this because mean Colonel Ming told you to. But I know a secret." The flaming projectile hedged ever closer to its target. His hyper senses could literally feel the flame, just a moment away. Rudy lost his cool. "Colonel Ming says dirty things about you behind your back!"

As Cael took in what was going on and knew that Ming would be a big problem. At least to him. He would have to finish her off quick or at least make it hard for her to see him. He knew how to make it harder to see and he decided to us his knowledge. The air around everyone started to grow colder, and Cael could see his own breath. As it grew colder a fog started to appear, and it grew very thick. Hmm the thick fog also blocks my view, as much as it will block hers. Well hopefully this disadvantage would affect her more than us.

Armored Bishoujo: "Man, you'd think putting sprite comics into an RP would make it that much more popular. Maybe if I did a more freeform system from later on..."
The attacks on Rudy stopped thanks to his charm and Cael's mist. The Arrowmaker didn't seem to be attacking, either. Unfortunately, Ming wasn't so easily daunted by shitty visibility. She rushed forward and engaged Rudy. "Rudolph Douglas. Searching for the magic bullet that would make you human after your grandfather rewrote your own Divine Data to turn you to vampirism. Red Island just might have that kind of bullet sitting right within its borders, but," Ming paused, cracking her knuckles. "The way to Red Island is through victory over me, and I don't pull punches. I'm interested in seeing just how powerful that magical rewriting of your biology has made you." SITREP Update: Coffeewarmer A and Arrowmaker A are together, unable to decide what to do thanks to Cael's mist. Coffeewarmer B, Rudy's charm victim, is more or less reduced to a crying mess. Ming is attacking Rudy. |

Akane's eyes widened as the axe flew at her diagonally. Ming was clearly pulling out all the stops and not fooling around. Thankfully, Akane was boosted so she spun out of the way, barely avoiding the axe as it passed her by. Skidding to a halt, Akane knew that she had an advantage now that the axe was out of play. She began chanting, employing her own boost magic on top of Laraje. "Lord's Might," she said as the power boosting magic took effect. Turning towards Ming, she punched her hands together and ran at her, moving to catch her off guard as she fought with Rudy and land a boosted punch.
