Basically, as a whole, Forgotten realms wins. Only because it isnt 1990 anymore. WoTC has all but entirely dropped dragonlance support, and most modern materials for it are sub-par. What we are left with is the series of books which started in the eighties and is full of anachronisms and cliches that were perfectly acceptable tropes for fantasy and roleplaying then. And the new books, are ignored as a whole by WoTC for use as basis for roleplaying materials.
However, the newer fresher Forgotten Realms continues to bring in money, and keeps being supplied quality materials. (dont even get me started on eberron or 4th Ed. I HATE them)

I guess this discussion is pretty much over. If you look at the D@D campaign settings, Forgotten Realms definately wins out. But since I am much more into the books, then I believe Dragonlance wins out, though only slightly, whether or not they are supported by the affore-mentioned D@D Campaign materials.
