Eh, I still think it's an awful fad. A gimmick to get peoples attention, and an excuse to charge people way too much, not to mention it detracts slightly from the color. Until the technology is fully perfected, it's not worth implementing in film.
But fff, yes, it was incredibly sad. At the same time though it was incredibly heartwarming. It was really one of the best movies about coping with death and loss that I've seen.
Just about the entire movie worked for me, the structure of the story, the themes and character arcs, and Carl has to be the most well developed character in a Pixar movie yet.
