Are you rejecting the presence of the Spirit? It pervades us even now.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but it's on my Netflix list. But I think I'll enjoy it while I watch it and then hate myself afterwards. Kinda like eating a whole pie by myself.

The best part about The Spirit is that its not afraid to be funny and gaudy. Samuel L pulls that off quite nicely. Its like... If you took Sin City and said "Nah, that takes the horrors of life too seriously. And it needs more women."

Sam Jackson was so over the top in this movie...I mean you have to see it
I think the film gets a bad rap...but The Spirit as I knew going in...would be difficult to film. When you have a main character who can in the comics anyways not be a major part of the story (or be at work behind the scenes) it can get complex. The Spirit is one of those kinds of comics. Unfortunately they also had to change him into being indestructible (I guess a regular guy doesn't cut it any more)...I didn't go in expecting it to be like the comics and it wasn't but I had a good time anyways. And most characters were loyal to the comics as well...I don't like Eva Mendes most of the time (she's not a great actress) but she did a decent enough job for me to over look past performances It's worth it just for Sam Jackson's over the top role but the effects and story are good too but Sam steals the show
