We're basically running into the problem of people who played/want to play this game as Roleplayers and people who played/want to play this game as min-maxers/an FPS

You can be a charismatic psychopath, just like in the movies. Oh yeah, can you post of a screencap of the skill list on level up? That way we get our bearings with our current force of destruction.

I agree, we should first agree which one to do then stick with it, if this removes the fun of one group they can just stop following, but I dont think we'd get much enjoyment if the two sides rile against one another the entire LP.

Though first lets agree if my idea is even a good one. If most dont think its an issue we can just continue as we have been

I also agree we should see our characters skill and perk list at each level. regardless of which way we play this is a good idea

I echo the need to figure out if this is gonna be an RP run or a min/maxer type run

Depends on how greed wants to write it. Personally, I'd like a RP run. Though, seeing as greed doesn't narrate as the character it might not be what he's going for. Of course, it doesn't mean that it's not possible to still do a RP run that way. It's everything but impossible. We'll just see the character from a little farther away, which isn't necessarily a bad thing since it probably prevents Flanderization of the character. I think it's more about showing off one way to play the game and some interesting bits so far.

Oh, and I also don't mean to imply that those two extremes are our only options here, there's lots of ways to play these kinds of games, that's what makes them so fun!

Not really.

I tend to play 'avenging angel' type characters. They roll in and wipe out the powder gangers not out of fear for themselves, but in the knowledge that if the powder gangers are not stopped they will continue to prey on passing caravans and poorly defended cities with their large caches of weapons, armor, and dynamite.

These characters also have a tendency to wipe out the Silver Rush and anyone else/any other organization that shows themselves willing to murder innocent people for their own gain.

yes if that was our characters motivation, but he suggested wiping them out to remove a personal threat. Meaning to simply protect himself from harm

I can't see how it is cowardly to single-handedly wipe out an entire group of criminal scum that now have it out for you. That is pretty much the MO of every major early 90s Action movie. Strike first, strike hard.
