While primarily developed as a superior technique in battle, Shunko I guess has some additional, non-combat benefits.

It'd be nice if society had the same expectations for women and men when it comes to how much effort goes into their grooming. If you take it seriously it's time consuming and expensive. Personally, I refuse to wear make-up on a daily basis, nor do I put 300 different styling products in my hair and then proceed to destroy it with a flat iron.

High heels are also stupid. Thank god those aren't the norm.

I hope (and I'm pretty sure my hopes are well-placed) that you're suggesting that grooming standards be lowered to those of men. Because fuck if I'm spending more time grooming than brushing my hair back and shaving occasionally.

I think this would disrupt my balance of looking good to the ladies versus dignity retention. I don't see that as the way to go.

And it seems like something where I'd be better off being more wilderness Texan than this.

Metrosexuality was caused by society foisting upon men the unrealistic demands it had heretofore placed on women as opposed to getting rid of the unrealistic demands themselves. There is a fine line between vanity and slovenliness that most people are capable of navigating, unfortunately those who appear on the cover of People and those who appear on Cops cannot manage this tight-rope walk.
