I'd be all for an NPF MWS or Apprentice (preferably Apprentice) league. Im kind of a dick though.... other than drafts my one deck is U/r Izzet Guildmage-Lava Spike-Desperate Ritual Infinite damage loop.
faux-edit: I put the Wizards' forum [c][/c] tag around the cards. Old habits die hard.... I used to spend most of my internet time there.

This may be relevant to our interests. Wait, holy crap, 85 dollars? I suppose no one is going to pay that. But there's a mod for multiplayer. Which is free. If only the publishers were still around to print new copies of the game that could be bought for reasonable prices in support of their work, then I'm sure no one would even consider piracy. In fact I'm sure everyone here is good and kind enough to not consider downloading the fixed and updated game from that mod site anyway, as abandonware is a legal grey area. Let's just forget the whole thing huh.

I've actually heard of apprentice before, but keeping in mind the piracy policies here, would we be allowed to use it? I'm honestly not sure of the technicalities involved.

Apprentice was officially acknowledged and licensed by Wizards of the Coast, as it only uses publicly-available rules and lists of cards. Looks much better than my thing, legally speaking. Wish I'd checked it out before making my post. >_>

Yeah, it uses all publicly available stuff, and the actual program has no rules support.
If any of you are into limited/draft (like I am :P), I recommend netdraft too. Its a draft program that has you draft from most sets, build a list, then save as a .dec file to open in Apprentice. If you want a good laugh/horrible game draft 6 packs of Alpha

Apprentice is great, and legal. I've used it in the past, and it has a lot of manual user stuff/a bit of a cluttery UI, but works really nicely.
Have they been keeping up to date updating it? Last I knew, there was no patch past 10th-ish edition.

people have updated it, you just need to google (set) Apprentice patch. Magic-League, the site that hosted most of the "official" updates only has up to future sight.

Sweet. In that case, I am totally up for joining in on some Nuklear Forums Apprentice Magic League.

Oh shit, oh shit, I'm joining! ^^
If I can get it working that is. I had no luck in the past due to a certain issue... EDIT: BTW, what's the latest set that it has been patched up to? Also, are we following any particular rules/variants to avoid stuff like Tinkering a 0 cost artifact to get Blightsteel Colossus? (Kills in 1 unblocked hit, regardless of foe's total lifepoints). Hmmmm, I'm wondering how we deal with cards outside of our deck such as with cards like this one... http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Ca...verseid=193535 Last edited by Menarker; 04-13-2011 at 11:54 AM. |

for that, I'd say no more than one of each eldrazi. But, honestly, other than Infinite mana shenanigans (which should mean you win anyway :P), I don't see a conceivable way to make that work.
