TatsuCap's failure is a combination of dwindling interest in fighting games not featuring Nintendo/Square-Enix characters, the death of arcades, and almost no advertising.

It did come out for Wii, correct? Looks like I'm going to have to import if I want my collection filled.

I didn't mean sales-figure wise, I meant competitive-wise. MVC2 for instance may have sold ok in Japan but it's America that has all the top players, and the US continues to play it seriously now whereas Japan just doesn't give a shit anymore. Hell I recall a story about one major tourney having one single Japanese player, and his only win was because it was his birthday.

One other thing I notice is that there seems to be a comparative lack of footage of TvC matches since the game's release. There are videos all over the place from games like MBAA and FUC as soon as they got released but TvC seems to be getting left behind by Japan.

But this is beside the point of this thread. Perhaps Konami will outsource this to Eighting, who were also involved in TvC. If so this game has a hope of actually being decent as an actual fighter.

Yes, they did that. They seem to have gained Capcom's trust though, since Capcom gave TvC to them and Fate/Unlimited Codes was published by Capcom and has their name all over it. Also I hear that it contains various members of the team that developed Rival Schools.
