Well, I live in Houston... and the general sentiment seems to be.. in this very left-leaning section of the state, having Norris in charge would be no worse than Gov. Perry.

From what I gather in my part, left leaning in Texas is still moderate-right anywhere else in the US.

If you want to go the route of how did Arnold get elected (and therefore become not just a celebrity), he's married to one of the Kennedys, giving him some political sway, even though he's of the opposing party (though compared to a lot of other conservatives he's somewhat moderate, the Prop 8 debacle notwithstanding. Okay, he's not moderate, really).

Fifth there is a county in Texas where there are more guns then there is people!
also for some reason in a few parts of texas fully automatic weapons are legal!
everyone that i know knows at least how to hold a gun.

Admittedly, a television show with potentially upwards of 1 million viewers isn't the best place to vent that way. But they aren't alone.
In what way is an argument by popularity supposed to modify how inappropriate it was (not to mention how wrong)?

Just curious to see in what way it's not a fallacy.

Because there were a lot of people tuning in who weren't pro-secessionist Texans, I guess (that's a pretty big "sensitive" to avoid offending), and probably didn't appreciate hearing this "joke". As far as inappropriateness. Nothing would change how wrong it is.

There's a difference between Federal Laws, and the Constitution. The constitution is the supreme law of the land. Nothing supersedes it. Its kinda the whole point of the thing.

Whether or not there's a clause or amendment in the constitution that says states cannot leave the union, I'm not sure of. But the Constitution overriding state constitutions I have no doubts about.

Twas not supposed to at all. Rather I meant, if you're going to say something like that out of (what I proposed was) frustration, a public forum with a lot of viewers is not the place to do it. In private, or among a few people would be a better place to say it, if you're going to at all.

Ah, so the "but" was out of place? Apologies.
