Basically what Whomper's saying is, prep like you would for Battle Tower, people. Y'know, minding the rules along the way.

On an unrelated note, I'm still not finished with my Steel team, but I am currently also working on an Ice team, so I could do either of two types of Gym. I'll keep you guys posted on when I finish one or both teams.

I'd love to run a gym, but I haven't found a type or theme that suits my personality that isn't taken, and since I've lost multiple pokemon games I don't have my free choice of options. Flare took fire, Nikose has electric and someone already called fighting. Perhaps a psychic gym? I can work some of my regular team into the wildcards for that, too.

The Fighting Gym, while "called", has not actually been taken. I have received no PM regarding it. Thus, it is still up for grabs; this is a first-come first-serve league. :B

There is; in the very first post, linked as "League Rules". PM not required; just some way of getting in touch with whomever you're challenging will suffice. (Like, say, a forum post!)

to anyone challenging me: I am about to go into the hospital at 1 PM. I will revise my schedule to be open to challenges Saturday, all day long. I should be back in Toronto with my DS around 10 AM.

If that's the case, I'm going to finish putting together a team pretty soon, I'll have the info on it when it's ready. Don't feel like you have to wait for me though, if someone else is ready and can fill in the spot, do it. I tend to take my time working on things, and at the moment, the next ten pokemon on my list aren't really of the same types... I could push (Don't read if you want to be surprised) up in the queue as I just finished with a Jolteon, but that all depends on when you need your sixth.
