From what I have read, the Roman pagans didn't know exactly when his actual birthday was. So they just put his birthday on the same day as the celebration for their sun god (as a pun of him being the son of God) around the solstice celebration. And everyone just more or less followed suit.

And the funny thing is, some people keep thinking that saying X-mas instead of Christmas makes it more secular, but the X is greek for "Chi" which then was an abbreviation for Christ. (Thanks TVTropes!) However, that bit of meaning has since been lost and converted in this day and age.

He wasn't even born in Bethlehem. Was actually born in Nazareth but they made up the bethelem story to fit i with Jewish messiah prophecies. IT'S ALL COMING DOWN

I love Christmas music. Hate Christmas though. I go around singing carols in July. It helps me remember that the horrible summer will end soon.

I hate Christmas because it makes going to the mall in November and December basically impossible unless you go really early or really late.
