Here's the thing about the Star Wars extended universe: I don't know anything about it. I do like the KOTOR games, I enjoy messing around with The Force Unleashed, and the movies - for the most part - are pretty good.
But it looks like, in that MMO thing, that the war between the Republic and the Empire was a little bit bigger than portrayed in the movies. (I never saw that Clone Wars thing.) What with knights and consular and inquisitors and junk. But barring what you played in The Old Republic, barring the collective "the Republic are the good guys!" mentality; because, let's be honest, the average person/cephalopod/wookie/hutt doesn't give a crap about intergalactic space politics. For the most part, you would be blind to the Jedi/Sith war. You'd be bombarded with the same propaganda present in every fight, and you'd be influenced by the guy writing your space cheques. I'm not suggesting that stormtroopers watch the Empire's version of FOX news and read the Republic Huffington post, but that wouldn't be too far off here. With all the fighting going on on all the assorted planets and with all the manpower behind both groups - there's like fifty people working on the bridge, and like, three guys manning one spaceship space laser - there'd be a lot of hear say and speculation and talking going on by people on the payroll of one side or the other. So out with it; if you lived in this world, what would you be? (Answers not necessarily confined to Jedi or Sith) Would you be more interested in getting a steady job where you have, like 1000 to 1 chance of being levitated and choked to death for a minor screw up, or where you're working with sub-par equipment and second hand weaponry with rebels camping out in taun-taun sleeping bags? |
