Wow I was all set to come in again and start arguing the competitive side. Nice to see it's been done for me. Laziness: 1, Hard Work: Infinity!

Yeah, just 'cause I recognize that tiers exist, and that it's only fair to enforce them when it comes to competitions, doesn't mean I don't also enjoy the game. The only time I didn't enjoy a game despite immersing myself in the competitive scene was Brawl, and that's because Brawl is terrible.

Also, ranting about people trying to enforce bans during friendly play is ridiculous, sir. While it's certainly frowned upon to waltz into a non-competitive battle with a team of six ubers, nobody in their right mind is going to say you're breaking any rules, because you aren't. Rules outside of what the game itself enforces should only ever apply during actual competitions.

Anywhooo, I'm raising Dragonites now on the off chance that they'll be useful in taking out Red. Just the one I'd been using since Goldenrod City when it was a Dratini has turned out useful due to Dragon Dance and Dragon Rush/Aqua Tail. Well, until everyone and their mother started whipping out Ice Punches and Blizzards. Mmm, Blizzards...

Now that that's out of the way... I can totally play without using tiers or clauses. But it is the HEIGHT of douchebaggery to go into a six-on-six using nothing but legendaries all holding Brightpowder or some such nonsense. Hence why people normally throw in a couple of rules before playing. Y'know, the same way you tell your bestest buddy in the whole wide world right before you start a game of Monopoly that s/he's not allowed to use bank money if they're gonna play and be banker.

Technically, it was others who started it. Had everyone simply left my statement alone, accepted it as merely a difference of opinion for some loud-mouthed goon, then everything woulda been peachy. But I am compulsed to defend my statements if they are called out as such.

I still was not the nerd-ragey one here. But whatever.

I'm back to work on cooking up new competitive 'mons. I'm currently working on a Careful Thick Fat Snorlax... that's taken me two weeks to stop being lazy and get back to work. Hasn't been any more news on the Gen V front, and HG has been getting a tad boring lately.

On the good news front, my kinda-sorta brother-in-law picked up SS and Platinum with his DSLite last week, so I've been busy breedan and tradan some good stuffs for him.

How the HELL does Drowzee/Hypno use Poison Gas?

My theory: They fart in your general direction.

And also: The Voltorb and Magnimite thing. How did they come about? Were they built or something?

Just picked up SoulSilver last week. The last time I played any Pokemon was the original Silver and I must say, it still has not gotten old. Just wanted a quick opinion though. How sound would my team be if I planned on going for an all status-effect line up. I'm thinking Meganium, Polywrath, Onyx, Flareon (or any fire type) and two other normal/ground types. That way I would have the opportunity to poison/burn/bind/confuse any of the opponent's Pokemon that give me a hard time and just sit back, heal with either synchronize or roost, increase my defense and let the effects do the work for me while throwing in a few tackles here and there.

I'm going to now try going back through this entire thread to see what I've missed over the past year.

My friend code is 2579 6960 5674. Right now I've only reached the second gym, but by the end of the month I should be ready to roll with you vets. I'll be entering as many of your codes as I can today.

[Edit] Also, if anyone could catch me a low level Cubone and smuggle it to my DS, I would love you forever as it has always been my favorite 'mon.

So, no one's talking about the seven new Pokemon that were announced on Friday? Man you guys are lame. Incidentally, a source that leaked all that info about a week ago (and has given accurate information in the past) also said there would be triple battles this gen. This might make Plusle/Minun and Gear actually useful. Huh.
