I agree. I've always said, Final Fantasy VI begins and ends with Terra.

But then you have guys who don't want to think of this as a "girl's game." I know, Final Fantasy just has the most progressive and thoughtfully intelligent fans, doesn't it?

Then you have people who think the main character needs a sword. Or that Sabin is just the most fun. Or who think the mid-game events designate Celes as the main character. Or for that half of the game.

You don't realize the mindscrew that's going on. The makers of the game wanted you to think that every character could be a "main character." I wish they'd do it again. I think it works beautifully.

Man, that's a shallow interpretation of Batman. Like, Joel Schumacher movie thin. Take away the gimmicks, the wealth and the playboy facade from Edgar and you've got a mechanical engineer; take that away from Batman and you get the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh.

I'd sooner say Locke is Batman because he's someone who more than anything doesn't want to see anyone die.

That said, I'd suggest changing it up with other swears 'n' stuff. We one had a FF6 Let's Play here with our thief named Cocke. I still name him that from time to time, just because it makes me giggle.

I've mostly always been the same way, but on my last playthrough I decided to give him a go and didn't really find him that bad. Sure, you're not actually doing anything to play him, but he hits hard enough and there's at least a certain degree of entertainment value involved in watching him chuck other party members at enemies.

As for Gau, I've only had one good run with him wherein I lucked out and somehow wound up with the Daedalus rage, which causes Gau to cast Meltdown for free. Naturally, I stuck him in a party with everyone equipped with shields that either absorbed or neutralized fire and let him go to town. Let me tell you, it was glorious.

Never happened again.

My friend, you need to go pray at the altar of the Wind God.

Take Gau. Give him Stray Cat, a Merit Award, an Offering, and the Tempest, Paladin Shield, a Genji Helmet and a Snow Muffler. Use Stray Cat.

Have fun. Almost nothing in the game blocks or absorbs wind.
