What IS the Atomik Field? I mean, it's just kinda weird. And powerful, if it hits Nuke like a bomb blast...
$5 says "You'll find out in Atomik Age"... Or that I missed the point in the book where it talked about that, but I'm re-reading the book, so... ![]()

It's his KI field. Rather, it's A KI field, that shares a certain pattern with his KI field, so really Brian just got off by making it as intentionally vague as possible without offering a single answer as he will indubitably do in Atomik Age as well.

You won't find out what it really is until Atomik Age. But so far we know that it's a field of energy that engulfs or surrounds Sparky somewhat like a forcefield, that its appearance is very violent like a fire in fast forward going in all directions, that it's incredibly volatile and slightly out of Sparky's control.
By Atomik Age he's got a better grip on it. But is that necessarily a good thing...?

I wonder if his field is limited to the shape of his body. Would be cool if he could manipulate it. Like shoot out a beam of it or something

It's like a detachment of his soul that acts for him, but under his influence. He can't completely control it, as the times when he used it to its greatest shown extent was in moments of pure emotion: when he was younger at thought Nuke died, he screamed at a building and all the windows shattered (according to Norm, don't remember when he said that though), and; when Nihel made Rachel die asphyxiation, essentialy just suffocating her, and he put of more resistance to Nihel than entire planets (again, according to someone else, this time Nihel right after he stopped his attack). It'll also act completely for him, like when it shielded him from the heat so hot it set the air on fire, and kept him alive after a skirmish with Superion...
I dunno, just pointing some things out... |
