I do. I LOVE Starfox games. And that's exactly why I think that the developers need some guidance with how to make a good one. I mean, look at all of the things they've done that have been bad for the series!
Starfox Adventure: It isn't an arcadey-shooty-game. It's an RPG. Not really Starfox at all. Starfox Assault: Good graphics, but it's awfully short, and it's too linear. Also, there was too much of the on-foot stuff. Starfox Command: A strategy game?! Anyway... does anybody agree that they need to take a look at the basics and make a game that really lives up to the name of the series? The last really good one was Starfox 64. Can't we see another one as good as that?

Yeah, Starfox 64 was essentially a remake of the original Star Fox. Heh, I remember in the original Star Fox getting to the hidden level where the boss was a giant slot machine. Crazy level.
I'm not to sure, but I think that Star Fox Command is the descendent of the long lost, never released or finished Star Fox 2. I never really had a chance to tool around with the ROM of it (leaked and workable in a Alpha/Beta-testing form), but from what I read it had a bit of a strategy element to it.

I don't know why peoples gotta all the time be slaggin' SFC.
I mean, yeah, a strategy game is a weird thing to splice with a shooter, but there's little actual strategy involved and a whole heap of good ol' All-Range-Mode Shooting. And, like, a dozen ships with different capabilities! Something I've wanted from the series from the start! Besides, no one complained when they made a Metal Gear tactical RPG (well, nobody who matters complained). |

Basically my complaint about Star Fox Command is fuck playing Star Fox on a four fucking inch screen. And the stylus controls hurt me in my soul.
The part where it's a strategy game I'll be honest, I thought that was kind of cool.

Okay, okay, maybe SFC wasn't that bad. I liked it, but it wasn't really... the same, you know? All range mode is fun, but not if the game is completely saturated with it. And let's face it, the story... and those damned animal voices... sucked.
You know what I think would be good? A Star Wolf game. You know, in the same vein as SF64, but with a couple of improvements. Basically, you take the space-shooter-plane kind of aspect from SF64, maybe combine it with some things that worked from the other games... and maybe change some things altogether. Here's what I would do: -Stay completely away from the "gritty" atmosphere that usually comes with a game about a villain. Look how many games that's ruined! -Give Leon Powalski his original voice back. He's supposed to be a ruthless killer, he's not supposed to sound like nails-on-a-chalkboard. -Put the idea of different paths back in! I want to be able to choose, through my actions, whether I go to Meteo or Sector Y! -Give your teammates a bit of intelligence. They're part of one of the most elite mercenary groups in the galaxy, they shouldn't get shot down after being chased by Generic Badguy #3.:stressed: So, yeah. Someone needs to march right into Nintendo (or Namco... SF is now made by Namco, isn't it?) and yell at them for a bit. I mean... it's a fun game...

It seemed just a while ago Rare was making Starfox games...
I wish they went back to the N64 like version, sure the tank was weird, but at least it is easier to drive in tunnel mode rather than all-range. The thing I liked about Armada is that the spaceship fighting was much improved over SF:Adventures, just the constant all range made it feel a bit generic. |

The most experience I have with Starfox is playing SF64 at the orthodonist's office waiting to get my braces checked out.
DAMN did I get good at Corneria.

Also the problem with SFC was with the repetitive missions. They are all basically kill X amount of enemy Y and collect X amount of cores. Oh! Oh wait there's also the occasional "fly through the rings and destroy the missile/mothership"! My bad! But sarcasm aside, I have to admit they did 3 things right: strategy, multiplayer, and getting rid of on-foot missions. |

Star Fox is one of the best Nintendo-based game series they have. Nintendo just hasn't ridden that horse like they have Zelda or Mario.
Star Fox is like Star Wars action plus hot space marine catgirls. That's a tough combination to beat. The only problem, though, is that that there hasn't been a single game that comes even close to Star Fox 64, and that's honestly a shame.
