I've been wondering, why is it that RedMage's Hadoken was so much more powerful than Black Mage's. I have a reasonable theory. Since Red Mage turned into a Mime when he first used it, he also mimiced the true power of Black Mage. And since Black Mage is a nexus of power (As said in Episode 656: Simply Stunning) the nexus was unbound. Red Mage must have mimiced the true power he possess. We are not sure if that is correct, for Black Mage has not casted a Hadoken yet, aside from the one he casted point blank into guards, therefor we were un able to see it. That is my opinion. Does it seem plausible?

Brian said he made it look like that just because of the "holy crap" factor of Red Mage using it. It was no more powerful than BM's hadoken.

Wait, what makes you think RM's was so much more powerful?

You can just tell by the graphics, it had backlash, and it left most of the earth in it's way blown away. Just by looking at it looks much more powerful than anything Black Mage has casted thus far.

RM could have just had less control over it, and it went all over the place. Doesn't necessarily make it more powerful, just sloppy.

You have a point. He never casted a level 9 spell before (I believe) unless you can count Ice 9 during the Kari battle. But what if he did mimic the power of the nexus Black Mage has instead of just casting a sloppy spell?

I think most of that was just emphasis focusing on the fact that RM could cast it, not more power. Also, how about that time when BM destroyed an entire forest with a hadoken, propelled a large ship a long distance almost instantly, or sent it across the solar system?

Considering there is infinite love, which fuels the Hadoken, it could extend infinetly, which is why it traveled across the Solar System. As the reason to how it propelled a boat across a sea and destroying the forest, it's a level 9 spell, given by a god, that would be reason enough to how it is strong enough. And considering he is a nexus, his magic would be amplified without him knowing. Now since the nexus is unbound, his magic would be increased even more.

Mimicry deals with the replication of ability, not power.

I'm aware of it's mimicing of ability, this is more of a 'What if' scenario...
