I Am Legend -- Looking interesting.

This movie looks pretty interesting. I know, I know, it involves Will Smith and will therefore probably suck in some way or another. There are also lions in New York which makes no sense as it as far too intemperate for them to live there, fall of civilization or no (I assume the plot is they escaped from the zoo and bred, but they would probably die come winter). Also, Will Smith is running on treadmills despite the fall of civilization. If I had a generator I probably wouldn't waste my energy on a treadmill and would just run in place if I couldn't go out to exercise.

BUT

There are zombies. Or things that look and/or act like zombies. And the plot is good if they actually follow through on him being the only human left alive and it is really, really bleak and all about survival. Cause if he ends up saving a small pocket of humans he was unaware of, who were living in tunnels or something, and there is a romantic lead, then they just broke my heart. Again.

Wasn't there a film like this back in the 50/60s? about a lone guy going out during the day and hiding from technology hating mutants during the night.

Yes, I think it could be interesting...but goodness only knows how hard it'll be for the writers to think up one-liners for Will Smith to belt out every ten minutes when he's all alone.

I don't see why you guys keep thinking that Will Smith being in the movie means the movie might suck. It'd be true of any actor. The only thing Will is good at is not typecasting himself in any single genre of movie. Sure he still has the "Fresh Prince" air about him sometimes, but he's grown out of that fairly well. He's done things like Independence Day, Men in Black, and Enemy of the State to Hitch, The Legend of Bagger Vance and The pursuit of Happyness. Thats a fairly wide range of movies. So I'm gonna go ahead and put this in the win column for me.

Also, Just because its the fall of civilization doesn't mean that there's no more power. All the power workers are dead so there isn't anyone to disconnect his electricity, let alone send him a bill for it.

I don't think it'll suck because Will Smith is in it.
I think it could suck if the writers try to write it based on Will Smith's previous movies(Wherein they continually ram one-liners down your throat non-stop).
