HO JEEBUS IT'S SNOWING

Yes, the first snowfall of the season has hit my neck of the planet, much to my surprise as I hadn't noticed the fact that my backyard was completely white until just a minute ago. I'd like to go run around in it or something, but it's five in the morning here and I need to go to bed.

Incidentally, I have never succeeded in making a snow angel for some reason, no matter how many times I've tried in all my years as a disgusting shaven ape monster. What's up with that?

Well, clearly you've got the direction wrong. See, all you do is flop down into the snow, and then move your arms and legs a bit.

And, well, I have no hopes of white ground until the year is over. It might happen before then, but I'd rather shoot low and be surprised than the alternative. We've had snow, but it didn't stick, so it doesn't count.

Well, I think the problem is that I grew up in North Carolina, where we typically got about two millimeters of snow (thus sending the locals into oh-my-gawd-it's-a-blizzard-we're-all-gonna-die mode) and so trying to make an angel was just pitiful. I might give it a shot now that I'm further north.

Man, I was once reading a North Carolina newspaper where a Northerner was telling them how to react properly to the snow, and a response to his letter was:

"Down here we let GOD sort that thing out!"

Y'know, I've never seen snow. I'm from Florida. I told someone this the other day and her jaw dropped. She starting extolling it's virtues to me, so don't think you're the first person to try and make me jealous over this recently.

Same here, never seen snow. Or at least not in memory, apparently when I lived in Canberra I saw it up in the hills but don't remember. The nearest place that gets snow is on the other side of the country.
