Why isn't anyone talking about the new Futurama movie?! We've waited so long and now we finally have it and nobody's saying anything...

So what'dya think of it? Have you even seen it yet? If not, why are you just sitting there and not going out and buying it?

Well, until some people were talking while I was in the middle of shooting people in TF2 I didn't even know about a Futurama movie.

I really really want to see this...like so much...fuck Klondike bars this is something I'd do anything for...but as an unemployed college student with basically no job prospects or marketable skills...well, see the picture below...

Anyways I'm banking on getting it for Christmas...ooohhh I can hardly wait...damn it

No one ruin it for me!

Also coming in 2008 are 3 more movies for those who don't know...and from what I've heard if these DVDs do well enough...Futurama's going to make a Family Guy style come back!...Unfortunately it took more than 2 times as long...oh well it's the best

The same reason I'm not running out and buying the Simpsons movie: MATT GROENING ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE! He stopped being funny around 2003, scientific fact. Futurama used to be great, but what do I expect from this? Flop.

Point 1: The Futurama movie is not made by FOX.
Point 2: Futurama has not gone on for 20 years, so its jokes haven't gone stale.
Point 3: The Simpsons Movie has an 88% rating at rottentomatoes.

It's a little weak at the beginning, but it picks up and becomes really good towards the middle/end. The plot is less... epic... than the Simpsons movie, but it's way higher-brow. Basically, it's like all those years since the last episode never happened. As a time travel plot, it's at least as good as the Roswell episode, and twistier than the episode where Fry defeats the brains the second time.

It never quite reaches the height of some of the more brilliant episodes, but it comes damn close. And I was so relieved at seeing these characters again that I didn't mind the weaker stuff. So by the time it got stronger I didn't really fret too much.

Go out and buy this! Make your friends buy it if you can't! The Hypnotoad commands it!

Futurama was always better than The Simpsons, anyway, due to a far more interesting character dynamic.

Also I enjoyed the Simpson's movie personally...but the thing is we can't compare the 2 because they are really made for 2 different audiences...

Also everyone should just cut the "boohoo after 20 years the Simpsons aren't funny anymore" crap this isn't a shit on the Simpsons thread...it's a thread about the joyful return of arguably the greatest TV cartoon ever on the idiot box.

I saw it. It was basically a 2 hour Futurama episode, take that however you want it. I say that being a huge fan of the show, but this isn't going to rock your world if you didn't already like it.
