A weird dream that needs interpretation

So yeah. This was my dream during a 2 hour nap I just woke from.

So the dream starts in a location I can�t remember. Basically, it is my job to go through time and do whatever I can to stop something from changing time. They never told me what to stop. The first place I visit is a giant indoor studio of some kind, where a race of anubis-looking characters are making a pyramid. Currently they have a giant mound of dirt piled against a wall. Next thing I remember is that I am in a mall, and I�ve just stopped time from being tampered with. But then I look in my left hand and� OH NO! BATTERIES! Apparently this was somehow bad because people seeing these batteries was further contaminating the timeline.

I then remember that it is time for my wedding, and my bride, a somewhat chubby long-blonde haired girl in a long white dress is coming up the escalator. I cover my face so as not to see her dress and start running through the mall the find a priest. Several times I take wrong turns and end up facing a pair of glass double doors and windows, like at the entrance to a Macy�s or a JC Pennys� except it is pitch black inside, either unused or abandoned. On the doors is a small sign that says �Pierre� and then something underneath I can�t remember. Standing next to these doors is an older man with a thin brown beard and mustache who is smiling. At one point I fall and my brother runs by me and I tell him to tell my bride, who is already at the alter, that I�ll soon be there.

I suddenly realize I�m actually just watching a MOVIE about all this, from the front row in a theater. Then I remember seeing myself sitting in the Balcony with Stephen King and Arnold Schwartzenegger behind me as we watch the opening advertisements. Then all the walls of the mall fall away and I�m back with the Anubis-people, and I�m chained to something pulling a log down the muddy hill. Apparently this is somehow going to help make the pyramid. I was looking at myself in the third person, but I could feel the weight as I carried it. When I reached the bottom, I was unhooked and then a large wooden frame was lifted up, standing at a 90 degree angle to the ground, another identical frame facing it maybe one hundred feet away. In the middle are two anubis-guards standing over some cement.

Now I am about 400 feet tall and all of this is going on indoors, and I have to crouch to get around. The room is the movie theater again. Next thing I know, the timeline has been saved, and I�m with my bride� but I look into my right hand and I see� AN OPEN PACKAGE CONTAINING A SINGLE AAA BATTERY! The timeline is contaminated again and the dream ends.


Any ideas?

That's a pretty vivid dream, though it seems full of inconsistanceies. Perhaps you can consult someone in your dream again to tell you what happened in the "blank parts."

And I thought I had weird dreams...anyways.

As for an interpretation of the dream, I don't really know if my explanation can be valid or not, but maybe you're realising that time is precious and that it passes by so quickly that you feel that you don't have time to do everything you want, therefore you seem to be moving around a lot, trying to be everywhere at the same time.

You also seem to be travelling at different time periods, or mixing two time periods together:today and the time of the pyramids. As for the Anubis-God people, maybe you're afraid of time because you eventually die after a certain amount of time has passed (I think Anubis is the God of death, if I'm not mistaken? Please correct me if I'm wrong).

I can't really explain the thing with your bride and your brother at the shopping mall, or why those shops seem to be abandonned, or why that guy with the beard is there also. Maybe the thing with your bride is that you're searching for someone right now, and that if you currently have a girlfriend maybe your thinking of spending a few years with her, eventually marrying her or something.

As for the batteries, you said that they seem to contaminate the timeline. Maybe this means that there is something in your life right now that is disturbing the normal flow of your days, or that there is something different in your day to day life that changes or unbalances your normal schedual.

As for being in a theater and watching yourself with Stephen King and Arnold Schwartzenegger, I just call that having fun in a dream. I remember dreaming once that I beat up a celebrity to death with an iPod, can't remember which one though...

Well, this is pretty much all I can say about this. Fun dream though.

Perhaps this represents your need to help people, or your resposibilities, or past mistakes you want to clear up. Perhaps you're unsure about what to do.

Anubis is a god of death and a guardian of death, and the pyramids of egypt are supposedly representations of the mound of earth from which the earth was made, or something along those lines. I'm unsure of what to say, perhaps you've started something, you have the things you need, and you know what the final product should be, but the middle steps are missing, sort of like step 1: dirt, step 3: pyramid, step 2... ???

Batteries store energy, so maybe you carry something with you that prevents you from doing what you want to do, it might be physical or emotional, who knows.

I'm assuming you didn't want to see the dress because you were actually looking forward to marrying this person, hence why you try to find a priest.

Wrong turns, maybe read litterarry as common mistakes, but in the end, nothing that gets in the way of final progress. You find yourself at doors, pitch black inside. Whatever is in that darkness is mysterious and you want to know what it is, Pierre ought to be a hint. I'm clueless here really, cause the old man makes me think of the generic wise old man, like gandalf or obi wan, unless he resembled someone you knew or know.
The fact that you told your brother should be read as trust I suppose. You want to make sure the bride isn't worried. This might be that you don't want people to oblivious when something happens to you.

So yeah, I'm not a dream analyst, but maybe I set some thoughts going in you.
In the end, I think, only you know what each thing could mean.

This sounds to me like an Alpha Sleep dream. Both in construction and the fact that it was a 2-hour nap. REM dreams are easier to interpret and are more cohesive. The fact that you remember this at all is remarkable.

As a dream in Alpha sleep, I'll tell you right now that as unqualified as I am, I'm putting the most focus on the themes.




Dark Windows - you are searching for something and can't find it. Is something in your life gone that was there before? This can be anything, but probably something important to you or a loved one.

Egypt - you are undertaking something. Is there a project you need to do? Is it daunting? Anubis is the god of death, meaning that you may feel this job is hard, even dangerous. Not necessarily physically, but emotionally or to a realtionship.

Wedding - you care for someone. Are you doing something for someone? This may even be the same job as the above. This is a person who you care for, who may not even be female. The outcome is important to you.

Movie Theater - you are watching. The people don't matter, in my opinion, but may represent friends or role models. Is there something going on that you're hesitant to act on? Do you need perspective?

Batteries - you are keeping secrets. Did the amount continue to diminish? Have you gotten problems off your chest recently? Is there something more?

Time - you are guarding the situation. Time is an important factor in all this. It may be time for the project, time in which the situation has developed or which it needs to resolve, or the very events leading to your problem. How long have any of your issues been going on? Is there a crisis now that in hindsight, there were indicators?

Being Big and Pulling The Block - you are performing slave labor. In your issues, are you pulling all the weight? Have you been burdened by the problems of another?




In summation, here's my analysis:

You have a problem. It's not yours, but you're covering for someone else. You're looking for an answer to it, but it's getting worse in the meantime. This is stressing you, because you see the situation heading toward a crash. It's a burden, but you feel like it's going to turn out, somehow. Still, you're worried about the outcome.

I'm probably WAY off with this. I'm used to doing REM dreams, where the symbols are stronger and more coherent. A lot of this needs to come from you. Alpha sleep is full of what amounts to gibberish without an intimate knowledge of the person and their life. The symbols are incredibly personal, and often don't make sense to the conscious mind. You need to look at your life and own mind for the best interpretation of this, but hopefully you have a start.

What are your associations like? Other than the obvious things like death, what do you associate with Anubis? What are your associations about death? What about your bride in the dream? Do you feel she might represent a person, or several persons, that you know?

What might you associate batteries with? Or heavy labor? Or the darkened store? Think about the meanings of these things. What do you associate with the name 'Pierre'?

Why might you feel as if you have to be the one to build the pyramid? Why are the batteries important? Why are you holding the batteries? What device do you need the batteries for?

Why are the darkened windows important? Do you feel as if an opportunity has been closed to you? Are you no longer welcome following a particular path? How do death and relationship fit together? Do you fear the death of a particular relationship?

Why is the pyramid important? What does building it signify? What will it mean when it's finished?

The reason I'm asking the questions like this is because self interpretation is much more accurate than any kind of outside input. Just because batteries mean stored energy and Anubis means death to others doesn't necessarily mean they mean the same to you.

Hey, you know, I have had a weird dream, too. And, well, this seems like a good place to put it up for analysis, so... I'm gonna hijack the thread for a second.

Ok, I fall asleep, and there is darkness. Then, all of the sudden, a spotlight comes on, and there, standing on a wooden stage, are a male pirate, and a female pirate. Then, music starts up, and they begin to sing. And, to this day, I remember the song and tune that they sung it to. Here are the lyrics:

(both singing)
All aboard the retard ship,
For fun and fancy free.
Yo, ho, the retard ship;
Made for you and me!

(male pirate singing)
Hello fine lass, and how are you
This fine and pleasant day?
If you're looking for the retard ship,

Music ends, they take a bow, and the spotlight goes off with an audible "Clunk!" After the spotlight goes off, I awaken immediately, and grab a notebook and pen I have next to my bed (for just such occasions) and write it all down.

Anyway, I will now end this post with an interesting fact about dreams. Did you know that all the faces in your dreams are faces of people that you have seen? Not meet, necessarily, but if you have seen a face, then your brain might use it in a dream.
