Okay kids, new thread, new rules.
1. The old threads always seemed the spammiest on the weekends. This thread will be closed every Friday evening and reopened the following Monday morning. Unless another mod feels like doing it, that will be evening and morning for me, so keep in mind I'm 6-9 hours ahead of most of you. 2. If you post a rumour, cite a reliable source. For reference, "the 287th best Smash Brothers player in the world met Mega Man's character designer on the loo and got a 'no comment' plus I really really want Mega Man in the game" is not a reliable source. It is ridiculous. If your source is ridiculous, I'll call you on it. 3. A last minute addition: no slash fiction. Okay, I think we're ready to go! The last thread: a rumour about a SSBB Beta channel. It might come and it might not and there's jack all we can do about it, yay! More to the point, we have updates again. More stages from Melee, although I think the first one is from the very first game, isn't it? |

The name was actually Yoshi's Story (Smash 64), which was based on the Happy Tree from Yoshi's Story. Confusin', eh mate? I love the reference to Clay Fighter.
![]() There's the mystery of the Pokémon Trainer solved: He stays far away from all the shit. Question about the new rules: how are we going to handle linking the updates? Last edited by Regulus Tera; 01-07-2008 at 06:26 AM. |

Still not explained what he does in aerial moving levels like Corneria and Rainbow Ride though. It would be pretty nifty if he got in that machine from Pokemon Snap.
Norfair might prove to be funny too. Its amazing how full of mini-games Brawl is. Even getting trophies has its own games around it! That coin launcher game and the trophy stands are interesting ideas, though I think the stands could get annoying if there's no ability to hang on to them. Even just regular combat has its tone change by things appearing that alter the nature of the fight, like the assist trophies, the dragoon pieces and smash balls. It looks like it'll be great fun.

![]() Oh yeah, last week's (well, the week before last week's, technically) updates. The Dragoon is pretty neat, I just fear matches will |

I'd assume that when the Dragoon comes out, all three pieces are spawned. Getting, say, two pieces, and then waiting for the third to come out seems a bit too sadistic to be done.
As for the trophy stands, I don't like it. Interesting way to ensure more playthroughs and all (aside from the assumable unlocking characters) but the fact that it's entirely luck reliant on whether or not the stand spawns when you're fighting a boss is going to get old fast. Even moreso if the stands disappear after a set amount of time like other items. Today's update just plain sucked.

Today's update was great - its the Classic stages I love. I'm so glad Corneria's back.
And, Meister, no, Yoshi's Island ala Super Mario World was in Melee too as well as N64.

Actually, looking back at Meister's post, I think he was talking about Corneria.
The Great Fox was a stage in Smash 64 as Sector Z, so that may be what is confusing you. The difference between that one and Corneria is that the former became smaller. I never understood why that, though. |

Well yes but Meister said the "First" one so I assumed Yoshi's Island.

Sector Z was stupidly huge. Link couldn't even grab the ledge on the dorsal fin without using his Up + B it was so huge.
Regarding the Dragoon, I'm hoping the crosshair screen is there to let you aim it, and is more than just for show. At the same time I hope it automatically fires eventually, because otherwise someone could just take off for the rest of the battle and only come back in when there's only one opponent left.
