Why arent they making a Half Life movie yet?
I mean, the HAVE the actors already!...
Here is Freeman ![]() And HERE is Freeman! ![]() ![]() And now we have G-Man ![]() And HERE is the G-Man! ![]() ![]() ![]() Simply follow the Plot of the games and we get ourselves a probable good movie (if they could just not fuck this up!) ALthough i didnt found a good Alyx or Barney... |

![]() Maybe? I don't know, it's not as striking as the Freeman resemblance there. |

I'd be worried they'd throw in a completely pointless sex scene and focus too much on the relationship between alyx and gordon... I think half-lie 2 would be a better movie, but I don't know how they'd do it without first doing one for the first game

I think if they did a movie about the Half-Life universe/continuity then it should be about someone who has not already been featured in a game or in one of the spin-offs. If they tried to do it from Gordon Freeman's perspective you either get something like Doom (I guess, never saw that movie) or you invent a character for Gordon Freeman. We don't really know that he is some selfless hero whose sole aim is to better mankind, he might just be fighting the Combine because he is crazy, or used to be a kid who imagined himself a sci-fi action hero and is now getting his chance, or he is tired and bitter and just wants the fighting to end etc. etc. The pacing of the games and relaying of the story relied on the first-person perspective, that the player somehow "chooses" Freeman's personality, or that they themselves are Gordon.
On the other hand, they could do a movie about another Black Mesa employee fighting their way out of the complex, or they could focus on the Seven Hour War, or the start of the City 17 revolution, or the start of the Combine tyranny, or even someone trying to escape City 17 as the Citadel is set to explode.

To be fair, the actor who plays house is the first (and so far only) actor who i feel that could talk as gordon freeman and not suck...
Or they could go "new" and make a movie where everyone BUT freeman talks, like a true silent hero... I think that it should start with Half Life 2. it's better than Halflife, and the series "prime" so far... if it is any good, later, you can tell about Half Life 1; sice both are MANY years apart, it's not bad. |

The main reason you'd want to know about half-life one is to know about how gordon got hired by the g-man... But you could have flashbacks and stuff to tell that story. Also, in HL1, Gordon is fighting for survival, and just ends up taking the fight to the Xen in my oppinion, in two, he's helping old friends. Plus it's one of those, I'm the only man who can do this kinda thing.

I'm not sure I want Freeman sounding like Hugh Laurie (nor am I sure Freeman's supposed to be that cynical, though I suppose all bets are off with a silent protagonist), but the look is certainly there. There was an older comparison, too, for a whole cast. Can't seem to find it anywhere, but if anyone knows what I'm talking about, it was one of the game posters, but completely photoshopped.

I found this link, and this one, apparently from some HL2 book. Some of those lookalikes are very convincing, as I think those were the people the characters were modeled from... though the site didn't list any names.

I always envisioned Edward Norton as Gordon Freeman.

Hmm, I see the resemblance there.
And now that I look online, Jay Ingram looks one helluva lot like a Happier Dr. Breen: ![]()
