...Wait, what? When did Sonic go semi-medieval? No, seriously, what the hell? It's taking me a few minutes to post this because with every question I go back and take another look at the cover and...I don't know what the fuck anymore.

Edit: I'm not saying it will suck but I am confused. A lot. There's nothing more unexpected than Sonic wearing a gauntlet and with a sword. Apparently having something to do with a Black Knight.

ALSO: Wario land is the only thing on that cover that even remotely interests me. Well, maybe Chrono Trigger and Bangai-O Spirits too.

If he's insanely fast, I figure he'd hurt himself by hurling himself at things. A sword would help, I guess.

Edit: Shadow's gun using? It didn't seem as unexpected. Wasn't there some explanation on WHY is he using guns? Like, something about chaos control limits and/or amnesia or some such?

I mean, really, are they actively attempting to ruin the Sonic franchise (even more, that is)?

Now, I guess there is a tiny chance that it could be good, but looking at their past record of trying new stuff with Sonic, I don't think so.

Hey, if it works, I see no problem with this. Frankly, it registers as "hey, Shadow has a gun now, and guns are bad, so Sonic now has to be brought up to speed, and swords are good, so we'll give him that."

It's a nice design. You have to give it that. They'll just need to give it some sort of reason to be effective, like introducing RPG elements a la MegaMan Legends, or using rings to power laser blasts or something. Because you can't tell me it doesn't look like something that couldn't potentially shoot magic lasers.

Honestly? I see it as a step in a completely different direction than normal, but I don't think it will be bad. Except for the RPG, I think the new Sonic games will be pretty good.
