Just this morning I heard a gospel cover of Symphony of Destruction. Can't remember who did it though.
Obligatory mention: Eläkeläiset. |

I suppose Tori Amos singing Slayer is old news, but still good.

Cat Powers covering "Space Oddity"
It's a shame it was just for a Lincoln commercial. It always sticks in my head whenever I watch it, and something about her slow-ish, whispery lilt really grabs my attention. It's a good song to begin with, anyway.

I'm not a fan of his singing, but it's an interesting rendition. I saw in the related videos them covering "Symphony of Destruction" also.

I once had a recording of Pain Station (an industrial group) that did a cover of the Safety Dance. It was amazing.
Sadly...it is pretty much impossible to find now ![]() |

I think I recall hearing an industrial Safety Dance cover back in the day.
No list of interesting covers is complete without Johnny Cash's spine-tingling cover of Hurt. Less interesting is Metallica covering Queen, but still a fun lil listen. Guns 'n Roses still ranks as having the best covers in my opinion, both Knockin on Heaven's Door and Live and Let Die are far superior to the originals.
