Dragonball Evolution: Final Thread (plus Surprise)

So, on March 14 you will be able to download the Dragonball movie (because it comes out on Japan on March 13) and you can watch it on theaters on April 8 (april 1st if you are in france) Uk get it April 3. Germany get's it April 9.

So, the Theme song Rule is already out there. 9Pretty good actually. Also, glad it's in Japanese) And the tracklist of the official sound track too... Which i have here, and it sheds a little light on the plot.

The official Rating is "PG For intense sequences of action/violence and brief mild language."

Also, ofcourse, there will be toys of this movie. But i wont show them... well, except one.



Oozaru!! Probably not final... It also confirmes that Oozaru is just an "Hulkied" version of Goku on Ape form. Not a Giant Monkey.

Also, the PSP Game (awfull awfull looking game. Like a proper Budokai title, but really barebones...) Has Oozaru, and from there, you have the first official art of it



Also, from the new scans i've seen there is just one i would like to show... i'll just link it because it's too big for here. There is just one picture i like in it (please forget the text... your brain will thank me) and it's the one showing Goku carrying a fuckton of stuff like it was nothing, i dunno, that's for me is 1% closer to getting this character right... Also, the first one pointing to a humorous side of Goku, If only barely. This scene is from the part of the trailer, right before Goku jumps and kicks 2 bullies in the face...

Also, James masterson talked about Piccolo being Green in a interview

James: Actually for me it was a little different, because it was not easy to get green. There was some disagreement on what my character should be. And I went off. I argued vociferously for green. I told everyone that our careers were over if I’m not green. I’m not making a threat, and I’m not going to do anything wrong, and I’ll go down with you, and I will be the first in line plummeting down into bankruptcy. I mean, if you do Superman, he’s got to have a cape. If you do Spock, he’s got to have pointy ears and if you do Piccolo he’s got to be green! So, no, as soon as I was green I was a happy happy happy little clam.

And to wrap this up, i'll just place some of the Questions answered by the visual effects supervisor, Ariel Velasco.

Q: Some fans were confused that the “Kame Hame Ha” [in the trailer] was executed with one hand. Was this the actual “Kame Hame Ha” or just a “Ki” blast put in the trailer to not spoil it?

A: The one handed ki blast was just a shadow crane strike. Goku has a limited arsenal of energy blasts that culminates in a Kame Hame Ha. Roshi’s arsenal is more powerful than Goku’s, and Piccolo has many types of energy blasts that culminates in a Spirit Bomb. I gotta say, the energy fights are pretty cool.

Q: Do any of the characters have auras in the film?

A: Yes.

But i did say there would be a surprise right? Well... how about a Sequel just waiting to see how well the first one does?

Extensive clips of the movie were revealed exclusively for the Korean press. “I also love the comic books, but the manga is very long. There’s no way to put all that in one movie,” said director James Wong (Final Destination). “The goal is to be able to introduce “Dragonball’ not only to fans but those who don’t know it,” he said, adding that he wanted to craft a story that is relatable to a young audience. “Hopefully we’ll have a chance to tell the rest of it in subsequent movies.” The creation of sequels will depend on the success of the upcoming film, he said.

Speaking to SciFiNow last month, the 26-year-old actor said that he was signed on for potential sequels, and that he was excited about the prospect: “If there were to be a sequel I think it… well, I know that it would go to a really interesting place, because they already have the second script written.” When pressed for details, Chatwin revealed a little more about the direction of the celluloid version of the franchise. “It’s really, really cool. The second one goes more into the whole legacy and the genealogy of Dragonball. It goes more in-depth into a real Dragonball series, the kind of intergalactic world of Dragonball.”

Let me point this part out "the kind of intergalactic world of Dragonball" . You know where this is going right?

I dunno, i belive that, for what it is.. at least they are trying to take it seriously... the cast at least! I dont think it will be very good (also short.. just 100min), but it caught my attetion enough to want to go see it.

We're less than a Month away from whatever the hell this is...

Yeah I'm still not going to see it. Even if they're taking it seriously. And somehow I doubt this will see a sequal, although I'm usually always wrong when it comes to forseeing a movie getting terrible box office sales and not getting a sequal. *points at transformers 2*

I'll watch it online first (afterall... it comes way sooner online) but since, over here, they will dub it using the voice actors from the anime, i'll getter a bunch of nerdy friends and we'll watch it on the big screen for the sheer campyness of it

That was my initial reaction, too.

I can't help but know that this will be a horrible movie, and I think that most people would agree.

It's going to be rolling in money, though, from the sheer amount of people (including me) who will go see it BECAUSE it's going to be horrible.
