Even though the name of the thread applies to this being about nothing in particular about school, that isn't the case.
I would like to discuss with you good people the very simple matter of "school sucks". Now, I am a young man who quite likes to study what it is that I study. But still, there are those certain moments when I can't help but think to myself "what a shitload of fuck". So, any "school moments" that sucked that you'd want to share with us? Personally, I hate it when you have more than one exam per week. How in satans asshole am I supposed to learn about behavioral ecology and recognizing species all in the same week. What a shitload of fuck! PS. Any mod feel free to change the title, I basically made it like this to annoy you a bit. Here's hoping it worked! Hugs and kisses xxx.

Ooh boy, let's see... school sucks.
You know what i hate? When you, as an student, in a fair observation, can find a Lazy or Liar teacher. That just sucks... You know those teachers who don't give a shit about what they are teaching, or if you're learning, or if what they are teaching and you're learning is actually right? Those asses.. Sorry, but trying to teach me that you can't see the Moon during the day, that it's impossible? I can just look out the god damn window and see that it's not true! And there is also this other type of teacher... you know, the one that says that you need to learn about "Square root" because adults have to use it everyday in their lives, regardless of their jobs? Again, though luck... tel me that learning Square Root will enhance my thinking process and dynamic problem solving skills. Don't bullshit me saying that my Garbage man has to use it everyday on his job... |

I think the worst part about School (Especially further education) was that your work is ever constantly on your mind. Compared that to having full time work even with strict deadlines (and possible over time) your leisure time and work time can be seperated and it's nice to have this liberation.

My problem was always that, yeah the teachers weren't always the greatest, but the kids made it worse.
We had a substitute this one time in high school. Dude was just like freash off the plane from Nigeria. He was doing his best and wasn't really being a jerk, but wouldn't you know it half the class starts harassing him about his accent and it just blew up from there. Whart really got me upset was that the students who were leading this little disruption were black and very vocal about anyone saying or doing anything racist, even when no one was. I mean maybe the white kids wouldve done the same thing to an Irish guy, but I guess I'd be just as disgusted then.

Worst part about school is finding yourself in College and realizing that your public school education glossed over a few things.
Also: Paying aback student loans.

Worst part of school: Spending 20 hours on a drawing project(it being only 50% done at this point) fully knowing that when you bring it into critique, your professor can literally rip it up and tell you to start over again.
It's never happened to me, but it has happened to other students. It makes working on the project all that more stressful. The higher level drawing professors here are brutal. I know some students who spend the night in the art building trying to get stuff done on time.

School's good fun. I've been in it so long, courses have become more of a science (how ironic for me) than an experience. Don't get me wrong, I still get some fascinating professors and good subjects, but it all seems so...easy, now.
As compared to my opinion in first or second year, which was probably more along the lines of "what a shitload of fuck." |

Having to learn the difference between tits (the birds, not boobs) is really, REALLY boring.

There aren't enough grades. There are a few big grades. I'd like a lot of small grades, which I think assess ability and learning better.
Personally, I choked on the first test in math and accidentally missed the second so now I have to be ultra awesome in the class to get a passing grade. |
