Squeenix said they were inspired by Half Life when making this game. According to this LP, they didn't get inspired by the quality of Half Life, that's for sure.

Screenshot LP (albeit unfinished) with absolutely fantastic depiction of technological and cultural progress, battles, and so on. It feels like reading a book of awe-inspiring history.

Room mate introduced me to this one. It's pretty fantastic.

Toby Sucks at Halo: Reach.

First video has no gameplay, all intro. The title is very fitting, however.
