Alright, so my niece and I are currently attending college together. Our schedules are somewhat different (her classes begin at 9:15 AM, mine at nearly noon), I'm her transportation, and I don't leave the college in an effort to conserve fuel. College students be broke, ya know? So by the time my first class rolls around, I've been sitting in the library for nearly three hours. Add to the facts that I don't eat breakfast (it's hard enough to crawl out of bed early enough to shower and shave, let alone cook anything), and I'm starving by the time I'm in the classroom. With sources of hot water in short supply (so much for cup ramen), I'm looking at doing some brown-bagging for lunch. Peanut butter and jelly will only get me so far, as will the same old sliced meats and cheeses from the deli. So I'm turning to you for ideas... what (besides Krylo, NonCon, and SmartyMcB) makes a damn fine sammich? Feel free to include pitas or tortilla wraps as well if you know of a good one.
I'll start with a recipe for a dessert sammich I found on the intarwebz a few years ago. I tried it and it was surprisingly good. Nannerdogs 1 Hot Dog Bun Peanut Butter (Creamy or Chunky, your preference) Jelly (your preference) or honey Shredded coconut, chopped peanuts, or chocolate chips (again, your preference) 1 Banana Open the hotdog bun and spread a nice, thick layers of peanut butter on one half of it, repeat for the other half with jelly or honey. Sprinkle with coconut, peanuts, or chocolate chips. Peel banana and place into prepared hotdog bun. Top with additional sprinkled condiments. Nom at leisure.
